Summary: Blue Book of Modern Black Powder Values
Review: This book is so full of errors and misinformation that it is totally useless to the collector of modern production replica black powder revolvers. In collecting replica revolvers the markiings on the gun is what makes one more valuable than another. This is a very new field of collecting and there is still much to be learned. It is for this reason that this book does more harm than good. Where does the author get his values? Why would a Uberti revolver from one distributor be valued differently than another when they are both marked the same. The book does not even list the most valuable variations. It appears the the "Blue Book of Values" has just come up with a way to produce another book by removing the black powder section from the original Blue Book and publishing it as a separate book. Values listed mean nothing and should not be used to determine values of replica black powder percussion revolvers. Dr. James H. Davis, Founder and President of the Replica Percussion Revolver Collector's Association, an international collector's association.
