Rating: Summary: Also Disappointed Review: I agree that this is a design book only. That is fine, but it should not be described as a complete guide. There is no reference to various styles. There is no help to one who is not familiar with yarmulkas either as to size or shape. and the few directions are vague.

Rating: Summary: Great Book Review: It is worth it. Sorry if some people do not understand it. It really is very simple explaining how to crochet Yamulkas. It is the best!
Rating: Summary: Dissappointing, a pattern collection, not a design book Review: This book is regrettably disappointing. It is merely a collection of the sort of basic border patterns commonly crocheted around the circumference of a kippah (yarmulka). The patterns are mostly one color (plus background), with some two color. There's absolutely nothing in the way of contemporary designs, such as spirals, where the design covers the entire area of the kippah. While the three variations on the Hebrew alphabet and a few pages of Judaica patterns are useful, the bulk of the patterns are undistinguished. The patterns are entirely in grid form, with no pictures, making it impossible to really determine what the final form will look like. Other than a couple of vague guidelines at the beginning, there are no color suggestions. There's also nothing that invoves varying the crochet stitches. The instructions boil down to: crochet a round of suitable size, increasing as necessary, and then crochet in the pattern - all using the single crochet stitch.
