Rating: Summary: Unique, creative, personal, easy-to-grasp & FUN to read! Review: Ami has written a book for both the expert quilter, who'd like to try something new, and for those of us who always wanted to try a quilt, but were never quite inspired enough. Since getting my computer and scanner last summer, I have had a blast making greeting cards with old photos for just about everyone in my circle of friends and family. "Creating Scrapbook Quilts" took me to the next step, preserving those old photos in quilt form, for generations to come. The book will delight you, inspire you and move you. The photos of these quilts (most by Ami, but some others) are beautiful and detailed. Along with descriptions of the step-by-step construction, you will get a glimpse into the lives of the quilt's owners (and makers). I was inspired enough to read the book twice more, then start my first quilt. I am now making my second and have just ordered three more of Ami's books. This book will have you going through old photos and walking down memory lane. You may even mend some broken fences along the way!

Rating: Summary: Not good for beginners Review: Being a beginner I found that this book was not at all helpful in providing a very good understanding of how to make the quilts. It was a better kind of idea giver than a how to book.

Rating: Summary: Easily create an heirloom quilt! Review: This book is a wonderful guide to help you make a memory quilt. It's written well with easy to follow instructions, full of pictures and graphic designs. If I can make one of these, then anybody can. A lot of fun--both to make and to give!
