Rating: 5 stars
Summary: All you wanted to know and more about herbs.
Review: "Ortho's Guide To Herbs" is one of the most informative books I have ever seen. It contains an alphabetical section of herbs, including roses since roses are edible flowers, that gives comprehensive descriptions of various species. It tells the color of the foliage, the color of the flowers of each species, what they can be used for and all information on how and where to plant them.

Then the books contains other sections on using the dried flowers as sachets, potpourri and many things I hadn't heard of before. It lists which herbs and flowers are edible and which are not, which might be poisonous. It has lists for choosing plants by color. It has many recipes to use the herbs in. The color photographs are magnificent and inspiring for combining different plants to create beautiful gardens with the herbs in addition to having them to eat.
