Summary: Beyond the basics, but still great for beginners
Review: Of all the books on silk painting, (and I've looked at most of them,) this one is unique in the way it gives the reader tips on working with different types of dyes and ideas on how to fix the snags you will inevitably run into. In addition, it offers innovative approaches to mounting and stretching the silk. Details on various techniques, which are often glossed over or summarized with too little detail in other books, are plentiful here. This book doesn't skimp on the colorful and inspiring examples of artist's work either. A must for any artist seriously investigating the medium.
