Rating: Summary: A bit disappointing Review: I should have known not to order a book that lacks the 'look inside' feature, but Ortho books are usually very good. This book was disappointing (to me, at least) for the following reasons: too basic, not enough information, and it does NOT include photograghs of the finished landscapes. Mostly I just do not like the illustrations--fuzzy chalk drawings that are hard on the eyes and lack definition. Selected ideas for building fences, pergolas, etc. consist of simple line drawings and no detailed instructions. Sorry Ortho, I've seen better.
Rating: Summary: It's all there for you! Review: Ortho puts all the basic outlines in this book for us to find. How to get stared on drawing out your plans to scale. They explain how to use wind directions in your favor, and use existing landmarks and views to help the design process. With seven different specific property scenarios, your sure to find one similar to yours. I did, (Site Two: Older Home; Midtown Lot) and this book has helped me to draw a basic scetch of what I want my property to become.
