Summary: A great resource for anyone changing their name
Review: "Do you take this name..." is a great resource for anyone (especially new brides) planning on or thinking about changing their name. Sections include reasons why (and why not) women change their name after marriage, which were really helpful. Most useful, however, are the sections that detail what (and in what order) needs to be done to change your name with the government, banks, insurance, etc. The book also includes a terrific checklist to help keep track of your notifications.

Summary: Fills a gaping hole in the wedding advice bookshelf
Review: Brides and brides-to-be need this book. Period. Arnison not only summarizes the pros and cons (and multiple possibilities) of name changes, but also lists all the people, organizations, and governmental bodies you need to contact--and she gives addresses and phone numbers for all of them. There is no other book on the market like it. I recently married and searched far and wide for useful information on changing your name. Some bridal guides allude to name change requirements, but none is as comprehensive and as accessible as Do You Take This... Name?

Summary: The most helpful book I've ever read
Review: I never realized there were so many places that I needed to contact when I recently got married. I was married a long time ago (25 yrs) and at that time I think I had a bank account, a social security card and a drivers license to change. Now the list is almost endless. Ms. Arnisons' book made the transition so much easier. She is a truly gifted writer and her book was fun to read as well as informative. I'd recommend it as a shower gift for any upcoming bride!
