Summary: This book should have cost a dime
Review: I am sorry but this book doesn't even equal magazine content. It is a small book with pictures. Not even the benefit of "how-to" advice. There are books out that are much more beneficial for decorating. Find them!

Summary: A couple of ideas, but not as much as I'd hoped
Review: I was somewhat disappointed in this book. It had a few specific decorating ideas, and clear enough instructions (there were directions even for the laughably easy ideas, like hanging frames on a wall), but for the most part, the projects didn't really appeal to me. They seemed a little narrow in range--there weren't so many overall decorating ideas, but more "do what I do" projects. The pictures weren't illustrative enough of the projects in some cases (only one pic and page per suggestion), and I didn't like the way it was arranged, with a number of idea pictures, and the instructions at the end of a "chapter." Additionally, though it's supposed to be "Decorating on a dime," there were projects that called for such things as 13 yards of raw silk. My dime is apparently not the same as the author's.

I did get a couple of ideas from this book,-- the end tables made of glass and copper plumber's pipe were clever--but on the whole, I found the book a little fluffy and without substance, and not as inspirational as I expected.

Summary: the title doesn't reflect the content
Review: This decorating book gives practical and innovative ideas to decorate on a budget. There are step-by-step directions and great pictures throughout. The best part is the resource guide, it gives the name and address to contact for information, catalogs and merchandise. Don't pass this one up!!

Review: This little book is a disappointment. Not a lot of ideas, not enough pictures. And who is the so-called "style maker," Christy Ferer? Has anyone heard of her?
