heartwarming. I love the illustrations and the heartwarming love and warm fuzzies that the illustrations and the words give. It was wonderful to read during Christmas and it is a great idea to pass on a tradition of this sort to children and family members. I highly recommend it to everyone I know and I have purchased a number of them as gifts for friends!

Review: I have always loved vintage treasures and if there is a family link, more the better. I have always tried to use these treasures and not lock them away, so this story goes right to my heart. A wonderful story of a woman who goes on a journey to find a way to save and use a family heirloom, insuring it will be passed down and remembered by future generations. I hope this story will help my daughter understand the importance of family history and the simple ways we can share our memories. The illustrations are cheerful and bright, and don't overpower the message of the story. I have given this book as a gift as well and would heartily recommend it!

Renee Rongen has done a great job of capturing the tiny details that help keep our loved ones close at heart after they've died. This book is much, much more than a loving tribute to the author's grandmother; it is also reassurance that love lives on and on. It's a book that will make you look around your own house for possessions that you'll want to share now so that there are stories behind them later. Or who knows? Maybe you'll be inspired to create your own patchwork quilt. In any case, you'll love the values of respect, sharing and caring that fill every page of this book. It's a treasure!

It is nicely written and captures meaningful experiences which children have with their grandparents and will eventually share with their own children. It is a "hand-me-down type of book with beautiful illustrations. Ms Rongan clearly writes from the heart and communicates her feelings beautifully!
