Rating: Summary: Personable and well-written account of Japanese tradition Review: I stumbled across this book in my local library, but would highly recommend it to anyone interested in Japan or aspects of craftsmanship in any medium. Timothy Barrett's book was completely enjoyable to read, even for a non-papermaker like myself. He humorously and accurately describes the process and the culture associated with making paper in Japan. I liked how he included his own presence in the book - instead of a dry description of how paper is made, he tells about his own encounters with the people in Japan who make paper.
