Rating:  Summary: Beautiful Roses, Practical Information! Review: Packed with beautiful photos, this fun-to-browse book also provides practical rose growing and care information. Lois' favourites, 148 in all, are divided into two categories, hardy and tender, and are presented alphabetically with specific information on each variety's colour, form, scent, ARS rating, height and spread.Detailed facts are presented providing history and characteristics for each variety of rose. Each rose has its own page with specifics and a large picture of the blossom and foliage. This book would encourage even the most timid of gardeners to try roses, even if they never have before. Having a Zone 5b garden, I've been cautious about roses in the past. Lois provides the information to select the best hardy and tender varieties and care for them. It makes me want to grow them all! A perfect take along size, I went straight from the book store to the garden centre!
