Rating: Summary: Loose Lead Review: I really enjoyed reading Loose Lead by Nancy Francis about the lifetime committment of one of the greatest dog trainers, Adelene Pardo. Discipline can be loving as Ms. Pardo with Ms. Francis shows in the book with all the anecdotal experiences. I especially liked the chapter on 'Teaching.' Love, in treating dogs, (and other animals) goes a long way. GREAT READ!!!!!
Rating: Summary: Loose Lead Review: This book was well written. It will be a useful guide to use for learning how to show your dog, no matter what breed it is. With the dog show circuit being extremely competitive, it is nice to have the inside scoop and know what is correct and what not to do. I found the illustrations well done and matching the breed standards quite nicely. This would be a very good reference for someone who is considering the thought of showing dogs. A big thank you to Ms. Francis for putting Ms. Pardo's words in print for everyone to benefit from.
Rating: Summary: A Long Awaited Book Review: This is the book that friends and dog lovers have wanted Adelene to write for years. Nancy Francis has captured the essence of a very, very talented lady and the training methods she has so succesfully used and taught. It is not the book for those looking for a cookie cutter approach; or for those that think the best approach to showing a dog is to bait excessively, then string it up so high it appears you are trying to hang the poor beast. However if you really love dogs, as Adelene does, and want them to be obedient and natural in their conduct, this is the book for you. GET IT.
