Summary: No bones about it...
Review: ...WURM is a big juicy horror novel. I've been a fan of Costello's for a long time and have watched him improve with each novel. I love it when an author I like comes out with a big fat horror novel, and I got my wish with this book. An underwater expedition exploring life around volcanic vents in the ocean floor, find a freakish colony of large worms. When one is brought up to the surface with a remote controlled vehicle, all hell breaks loose. The worms seize the minds and souls of all who come in contact with them and spread exponentially. There's a weird subplot about a cult of people who welcome the invasion of the wurms and become a kind of conduit for some dark gods or something. And truthfully, it clouded the plot a bit. But aside from that, this is a great ride and a helluva book for horror fans. I give it 4 1/2 stars and eagerly await more from this great author.

Summary: Another awesome Lovecraft-like book from a great writer
Review: Furious pace, great characters, scary, funny, this book has it all. Similar to Midsummer, a great novel of outside forces trying to take over humanity. This book is scary because the concept is very realistic. Costello is a great writer. Get this book, you won't regret it.

Summary: "Wurm" evokes stunning visual imagery
Review: I've read both "Midsummer" and "Wurm," and I have to say that while I was impressed with both of them, "Wurm" really takes the cake in terms of evoking stunning visual imagery. This book is certainly a rollercoaster ride, and I recommend it to both horror and science fiction fans.
