Summary: Patterson has still got it!
Review: Another must read from Patterson. I couldn't put it down.

Summary: Oh My ........
Review: Read this book the day it came out. Would not have put it down if I hadn't promised friends I would meet them for dinner. I am still in shock about the ending. I can't wait for the next book. Patterson sets up the next and his final installment in the Alex Cross series with this book. And hold on to your pants, because I have a feeling the next one is going to be a wild ride.

Summary: My 6th Alex Cross
Review: Alright, perhaps not one of his best, but well worth reading, and I will recommend it. One thing I really enjoy about Patterson are his short chapters. I know many of you complain about this very thing, but I jump up and make tea, or jump up and let the cat out. It's so convenient to just leave the book laying open and know exactly where you are on the page. This particular story is exciting, and although I agree that the conclusion is a little contrived, I wasn't really upset, as you can be sometimes with an ending that is totally unsatisfactory. The point is that Patterson is so realxing, just so easy to read. He is an entertainer more than a writer, and that is an art in and of itself. That his books are now becomming movies was predictable, but his plots are really tight enough to make good screenplays. They are not predictable. They are packed with suspence as a mystery should be. His books are just great good fun and powerful entertainment, which is all we can ask.

Summary: Riviting roller coaster ride
Review: "Roses are Red" is a riviting roller coaster ride of events for the Detective Alex Cross. The author James Patterson, I believe out did himself on the levels of suspense and the human defination that was given to each character. This series differed from his previous writings on the stories with Detective Alex Cross. But, yet in still the plots were well worth the nail biting. I can hardly wait for the continuation to the "Mastermind". A devoted fan....

Summary: Roses are Red by James Patterson
Review: I really liked the book but was very disappointed by the ending. I think it would have been better if it could have ended happily. James Patterson is a wonderful author and I will continue reading his books.

Summary: Alex Cross top dog
Review: The way James Patterson writes is excellent. He creates great characters and details them so you can imagine yourself as that person. This was the first Alex Cross book I have read and plan on reading more. I would highly recommend reading all of the Alex Cross series books. Wonderfully written, keeps your attention and you just can't put the book down.

Summary: Patterson's "Roses" A Bit Thorny
Review: James Patterson has lost his mystery and entered the world of predictable in his new novel "Roses Are Red." The Plot seems too contrived, the ending predictable, and the book reads as though Patterson was in a rush to meet his publisher's deadline. Alex Cross, the main character of most of Patterson's novel's, has lost his luster, and proves to be dull. While the ending of "Roses Are Red" is supposed to provide shock, it does little more than pinch. As an avid Patterson reader, I can only assume that Patterson tired of writing successful Alex Cross novels, and needed to find a different garden path.

Summary: Alex Cross Is Back
Review: Roses Are Red continues the Alex Cross series complete with Sampson, his buddy, Nana Mama, his grandmother, and his kids, Damon and Jannie. There is a new villian, however, who seems to be good enough to stump Alex and the FBI as he calls himself The Mastermind and plans the most awful bank robberies and finally a kidnapping that results in a take of $30 million. Alex and Betsey Cavalierre, the FBI SAC work together to solve the mystery and eventually drift into the beginning of a relationship. Each time they think they are getting close, the real mastermind eludes them. It takes a complete reading of Roses Are Red to find out who the Mastermind is, although a couple of pages before the end the YOU KNOW and suddenly realize that Patterson has just paved the way for a new series with another truly bad guy just as he did with the Gary Sonji stories.

This Alex Cross mystery was much better than The First To Die with the Women's Murder Club as the detectives. However, it's a 4* rather than a 5* because there is too much drifting away from solving the mysteries with subplots involving Alex's personal problems with an old love, Christine, who just can't handle his work and life style any more; his daughter who has a brain tumor and an operation, and a new almost love affair that lacks intensity until it is too late.

Summary: Wait for the Next One
Review: I love James Patterson's series about Alex and his wonderful family, especially Nana Mama, and his friend, Sampson. These books give us a view of police work that many might never suspect. Sometimes the police aren't in control and don't know what is going to happen next.

And that is exactly what happens in this book. Each crime has its own twist, confusing the FBI and the police more and more with each incident. Alex is even thrown for a loop, taking his usual "dead on" hunches and throwing them out the door. As Alex and FBI partner Betsey, follow suspect after suspect only to be told, "You have the wrong man," the plot becomes even more intense causing you to grip the book tighter and to ignore the hands on the clock.

But, I suggest that you wait and read this book after the next one comes out or you will be very frustrated and irritated at James Patterson when this one is over. Instead of the traditional buildup and climax with a soothing ending, this one leaves you stranded and wondering when the next book will arrive. James, please make it quick, or this fan will go crazy!

Summary: James Patterson does it AGAIN.
Review: Another great book by James Patterson but more than that, another great story featuring his #1 detective, Dr. Alex Cross. I love his Alex Cross books and can't get enought of them. With the other Cross stories, you could pretty much guess (if you didn't already know) who the killer was.

In Roses Are Red, the killer is so unbelieveable that you have to just read that last chapter several times to say "I Can't believe it" All I could do was sit with my mouth open in total shock. The "Mastermind" IS a mastermind.

I can't wait for the next Alex Cross installment and I hope and pray, Alex gets this person. Roses Are Red, just like all of the other Alex Cross books, is a MUST READ.
