Summary: Great Modern Fairy Tale
Review: There was a long wait after Night Whispers for a new McNaught novel, but after reading this book, I find that it was worth waiting for. The main characters are so vividly written that they seem like people you know. This book will not be easy to put down, you get caught up in the story right away - a perfect blend of mystery, suspense and romance. My favorite character was Michael Valente, who isthe ultimate fairy tale prince charming.
It was great to finally have a romance book where there wasn't an overblown misunderstanding between the hero and heroine that tears them apart, so that the heroine has to swallow her pride and beg for forgivness.
It was also fabulous to revisit characters from previous novels... Courtney Maitland and Joe O'Hare.

Judith McNaught is one of the few authors who excels at writing both historical and modern day romances. Read this book, you'll really enjoy it.

Summary: Another delightful read
Review: This author delivers great books that I love to read more than once. Logan Manning invites his wife Leigh Kendall a brilliant Broadway actress to meet him at the new location in the mountains for their vacation home. She ends up in a near fatal accident and he is missing. She comes to depend on a person of questionable background Michael Valente. The Detectives involved try every means to find the killer but keep coming back to the wife and Valente. I would like to see Sam and McCord in another book. They are terrific characters. The time frame from the murder to the conclusion is where it pushes my only giving it a 4 instead of a 5, but it was a wonderful read. Almost as good as Paradise or Perfect.

Summary: This is trash.
Review: This book was total trash. I would have liked it a lot better if the romance was taken out of it. It would have read a bit more intelligent. Instead, it was more like a dime store romance novel. And I agree with everyone who said it, people do not fall in love and marry someone so quick after losing their husband.

Summary: Really Loved this Book!!
Review: This has to be my very favorite book of Judith McNaught. Very, very good...

Summary: 5 Stars!
Review: This is my first time to review a book, but I feel that this book deserves my "2 Cents." I have never read anything by Judith McNaught until this novel, so I won't be comparing it to anything else she's written like some of the other reviewers. However, reading is one of my favorite pastimes so I can compare this book with books written by some of my favorite authors, such as: Sandra Brown, Mary Higgins Clark, Danielle Steele, and Jackie Collins. This is one of the most enjoyable novels I've ever had the pleasure to read. It definitely goes on my "favorite reads" list. Besides the great mystery, great romance aspect, I loved McNaught's ability to bring the reader into the same room with the characters!

In reading some of the other reviews on this site, there was some negative comments made and all I can say is, "You can't please all the people all the time!"

Summary: Great Page Turner
Review: This was my first Judith McNaught. I was pleasantly surprised. The plot has plenty of twists. It was hard to put down. She develops many characters and more than one romance. I highly recommend this book.

Summary: Disappointing
Review: This was the first time I'd ever read a Judith McNaught novel, which I received from a friend. The story started off okay, in my opinion, and overall, in general, I liked the story. However, my main problem with the book was that it appeared that Ms. McNaught's editor did not do his/her job! The book is very poorly edited (if at all) and I found it difficult to read because I couldn't get past the editing mistakes. The biggest one is that she often had two different characters speaking or having thoughts within the same paragraph! A big no-no. Each character is supposed to have his/her own separate paragraph when they speak or when their thoughts are being expressed.

There were many other editorial mistakes (poor scene transitions, implausible actions and thoughts by characters, such as the detectives Shrader and Littleton; to name a couple) that took away from my enjoyment of this novel.

Read it if you want something slight to pass time with.
