Summary: Quite Good
Review: 'Confessions Of A Shopaholic' is a pretty good read. Following along the same lines as other quirky British books (such as 'Angus, Thongs, and Full-Frontal Snogging' and 'Bridget Jones's Diary'), it's very funny and very enjoyable. I suppose it could even be described as the perfect guide to know what NOT to do with your money.The book could get frustrating at times however as I would yell at Rebecca to not buy things. She also seems to do alot of stupid things which I can't believe a sane person would do. I suppose that adds to the humor though. It's pretty funny to read about all of Rebecca's attempts to stop spending money as she seems to spend even more. All in all, it's a worthwhile read if you're bored, and the good aspects do outway the negative. I will probably read the next two books out in this series, hopefully they'll still be funny but not quite so annoying. I would recommend this to people who arn't easily annoyed when reading mindless fluff, or who are avid shoppers.

Review: I absolutely LOVED reading about Becky Bloomwood in "Confessions of a Shopaholic," by Sophie Kinsella. I mean, don't we ALL have an evil shopper in all of us?
Becky represents the shopper with a good heart and poor credit.In her struggles to maintain her bank account, her job, and - oooh - that new pink sweater set, she gets a little sidetracked. I laughed all the way through this novel, and I think any female who loves to shop will be able to relate to this book, learn from it, and find great humor in it!

Summary: Funny....and gets you hooked
Review: I will admit that I judged this book by its cover. I saw it on the shelf and picked it up because it was about shopping. I can really relate to it because I love to shop. Becky Bloomwood, the main character, is out of control with her spending habits. This is what makes the book so funny. I really enjoyed this book and I can't wait to read "Shopaholic Takes Manhattan." I reccommend this book to anyone who loves to shop.

Review: This is a great frivolous book. I don't know accurate it is about anything: Brits, shopping, or financial markets, but it's such a great laugh, it's a quick read!

Summary: The best thing about it was the cover
Review: I like fluff books. But this one was just taken too far. There is no real plot. Rebecca Bloomwood is a self absorbed weak excuse for a woman. She can't think of ANYTHING except shopping. Honest to goodness, she can't go more than 10 minutes without thinking of herself. As a result, she doesn't have any friends (unless you can count her flatmate Suzy - someone she couldn't care less about) but this doesn't bother her in the least. Who needs friends when there are stores? The novel didn't even reach a turning point until around page 220, which is more than two-thirds of the way through the book. The previous pages were merely spend going on and on about how much Rebecca loved shopping. Dear Lord - there are people who actually like THIS fluff? At least fluffy romance novels have ROMANCE in them and GOOD THINGS happening in them. For this novel, we have to spend its entirety feeling horrible for poor Becky Bloomwood, save for the last 50 pages where things just FALL IN HER LAP. This novel disgusted me. I'm going to have to choose deeper fluff from now on if I want to give my mind something fun to read. The best thing about this book (the paperback) was it's beautifully done front cover.

Summary: A promising start, but...
Review: This book started out well enough, with a lot of funny and laugh inducing introspections on the heroine's part. I couldn't help but identify with the heroine in her constant need to shop and her obsession with designer brands. However, about halfway through the book, the heroine's antics becomes grating and extremely annoying. Not only is she completely lacking in self-control, she's also immature and irresponsible, running and hiding from her creditors instead of looking for a solution out of her financial dilemma. Despite the author's efforts to paint her as a very spunky and imaginative person, everything that has happened to her comes from good luck instead of any hard work on her part to change her circumstances. It made the whole story extremely hard to swallow for me. Needless to say, I won't be standing in line to buy the rest of the book in this series.

Review: This book actually made me laugh out loud. I suppose it's embarrassing to admit, but I easily related to the main character, Rebecca, and her shopping escapades. What woman hasn't gone through the endless justification of unnecessary purchases, swearing "this is it - after this, I'll buy no more,"?
A recovering shopaholic myself, I found this novel a true delight to read. Kinsella does a wonderful job of creating a protagonist that the reader can laugh at, and laugh with, as she fumbles her way through life - and credit card bills.

Summary: Fun but improbable
Review: This is a fun summer read, although I think it's a bit far fetched. As funny as it was, I couldn't help thinking that the "happily ever after" bit just didn't seem quite as plausible as it is in books by Marian Keyes or Helen Fielding. Still, I would recommend this book as a light-hearted, fun read. Finally, someone who has bigger financial problems than I do!!!

Review: I myself am addicted to shopping, so I really enjoyed the book and really understood her reasons to do all of that. She tries to get serious and not to buy as much things as she used to. She also tries to be successful in her work. The book is very nice, I would recommend it if you like the Bridget Jones's series.
