Summary: pleasingly strange
Review: Amusingly demented, addictive read. I finished it in a day. Written simply enough to be a college student's guilty pleasure but intriguing enough to stand out from the crowd. Give it as a gift and wait for interesting reactions.

Summary: Fun, creative, satirical.
Review: Simply awesome. I admire this guy's ability to create a different world that fits so well in with ours. It's a great statement about the inhumanity of the media and the advertising industry. A lot of dark satirical humor that plays out well. I heartily recommend it.

Summary: Survivor
Review: Kurt H.
This book was about a man (Tender Branson) trying to live in the real world. Tender Branson was born on a farm that was part of a death cult. He starts a fake suicide hot line and hijacks a plane and plans to crash it into the ocean. He is telling the "black box" his life story and that's where it starts. This is one of my favorite books by him I read Lullaby and Fight Club and Survivor is my favorite out of the three. The one thing that I really like about this book was how he made it. From the ending to the beginning. I would recommend this book to people who like reading all of Chuck Palahniuk books. The age group for this book would be teens.

Summary: My Favorite Chuck...
Review: It is a close tie with "Fight Club," but I found this book took me for an even bigger loop than Fight Club, and I didnt think that would've been possible. Ass-Backwards religious beliefs, stardom, murder, ESP, homewarming...what more could you ask for? EXCELLENT!!!! P.S. Dig the Countdown!

Summary: Excellent
Review: I loved "Survivor". It is a brilliant satire on many different aspects of American society and just overall a fun novel to read. Tender Branson is a unique and often hilarious character and you can't help but become attached to him as you read his story through his own eyes. I am now working on reading Palahniuk's other novels after reading this one.

Summary: This is my choice among the Palahniuk novels
Review: This Palahniuk guy has my attention. I am genuinely pleased with each of Chuck's novels, but this is my choice among choices. Fight club I'd read a few years before this one, and FC is a great novel. But in my opinion Survivor is his best book to date; I feel that it is his bravest attempt yet -- a very smart nobody that cleans houses, was born of a creedish cult, turned into a celebrity messiah whilst creating miracles, gets high on this drug and that thing-unexplainable, becomes a partial murderer...all told from a plane as he records story into the black box. This novels contains much. There is far more here than your average novel.

Summary: Judge for yourself
Review: Read most of the reviews on this book. Almost everybody compared it to fight club. Some stated that it was better, while others said it seemed too similar, and yet others said it wasn't up to par. All I have to say is don't buy this book if you have already seen fight club (read fight club), all of the people who reviewed this book compared it to fight club, or only bought it because fight club was so great. If you are going to buy this book, buy it because the plot interests you, not because fight club was so brillant. I bet most of the people who got to this page, only got here because they did a search on 'fight club.' Now you are here, and if you learned anything from the movie, you wouldn't buy this book. You don't have to form some kind of alter ego to tell yourself that buying this book will satisfy you. Will it? Or will you have to go out in buy 'Choke' and 'Diary' and any other new works by this author?

Summary: A Phenomenal Book
Review: Well, if there's a writer these days whose novels are definitely worth reading, his name is Chuck Palahniuk, author of "Fight Club" (better than the movie, by the way). His second novel, "Survivor," is a masterpiece that tells the story of Tender Branson, survivor of a Creedish death cult. The book begins at the end, page 289, with Tender aboard an empty airplane that is doomed to crash in the middle of the Australian Outback, and he recording the story of how everything went downhill, on the plane's flight recorder. This book has amazing characters (as do all of his books), whether it be the strange, ultimately doomed protagonist, or the mysterious woman he loves, Fertility Hollis. The story is a wonderfully twisted satire on fame, religion, and martyrdom. Told by Tender and very well-paced, "Survivor" is a novel that is most definitely worth reading, and it (as well as Palahniuk's other novels) come highly recommended.

Summary: Somebody stop him please.
Review: Chuck Palahniuk is everybody's favourite author, well, not only for teens and twenty-somethings who know nothing of actual literature.
His novels are poorly contructed, the writing simple-minded, and filled with repeated one-liners about urnine and "the oppressed" modern day person(who, oddly enough, seem to be the only people who buy the books. for instance, i have never met anyone who enjoyed "Fight Club" who actually lives like the characters.) He does not know how to create characters, as they all seem to be various forms of Chuck himself. They simply spout off his philosophy, which isn't thorough or creative in any way.
Do not under any circumstances buy this book or any other trash written by him.

Summary: More Pahalniuk, please
Review: If you liked Fight Club and any other Palahniuk work, you'll like this one. Like FC and Pulp Fiction, among others, this book challenges your perception of society. It challenges the way you see yourself and it makes you laugh at the same time. It is dark in its humor and punishing in its frank assessment of the state of our society. Although its not really one of the all-time classics, it is rapidly becoming a cult classic. You have to appreciate this genre to appreciate Palahniuk and therefore this book.
