Rating: Summary: Powerful Review: This book is a must read. Words alone do not suffice to describe the journey one takes following O's story. Your paradigms will shift, and you will look at the world with a new set of eyes...the Nietzschean baby if you will.Keep an open mind...do not let your biases cloud your views on this unique literary experience.
Rating: Summary: a must for every lover of the bizarre love Review: A great story, highly exciting, full of erotic fantasies, for everyone loving extraordinary games.
Rating: Summary: nothing of the classic ive been told about Review: yuck!! after all the hype, i set myself down to read a riveting story about one womans journey thru this lifestyle and got up a few hours later thinking whats the draw in this one??? i believe that the fact that this was written so long ago is one of the things that people find so appealing about this...perhaps im wrong, however, i found this, The Story of O, to be a total bore and im none the better for reading it...
Rating: Summary: The Greatest Erotic Novel Ever! Review: There is no way anyone can put this book down. Not a chance. You'll read it in a day and pass it on! Amazing
Rating: Summary: A must-read for anyone interested in the D/s life Review: Story of O was given to me by my Master for me to read. After doing so, my mindset opened up much more to his. Anyone who is interested in amazing character mentalities should get this as soon as possible! :)
Rating: Summary: I'm still waiting for O's story Review: Having never read a book of this type before, I wasn't sure what to expect. The book was a quick read, but throughout the whole story I was waiting for something to happen. The repetitive descriptions of the acts of torture that were inflicted on O were getting boring after awhile. The main character had no substantial thoughts of her own. I just could not bring myself to understand why this woman would go through all of these tortures and give up her life this way. The book did not describe O's thoughts, rather it described things that happened to O, or things that O had LET happen to herself. Before I picked up the book, I had heard from other people that it was an extremely erotic and stimulating book, but I don't see what can be erotic and stimulating about a woman who allows herself to be treated like a toy that is always waiting for more torture. I found this aspect of the book extrememly degrading for women. I would of liked to see more of O's thoughts and a bit more depth to her character. Overall, I was not pleased with the book, but for some strange reason I read it until the end. Maybe I was actually expecting some kind of resolution to the story, but I didn't get one.
Rating: Summary: just NOT enough O! Review: I could not put this book down. Despite its almost vulgar honesty, it is entirely enthralling. Not for the faint of heart...the story of O is a mysterious wander through a dark sexual community, fascinating at every turn.
Rating: Summary: STILL SEARCHING FOR IT Review: THIRTY YEARS LATER STILL HUNGRY FOR MORE, A LIFESTYLE CHANGER, ONE NEEDS TO BE OPEN AND HONEST ABOUT THIS LIFESTYLE
Rating: Summary: stylish & erotic Review: O, is a woman who, although submissive to Rene' & Sir Stephen, seemed very in control of herself in that she knew what she wanted in regards to pleasure seeking & how to get it. She liked being dominated, but she was doing something for herself at the same time. I saw her point of view clearly throughout the book. It is a great piece of erotic literature.
Rating: Summary: Primer for S/M Review: Reage wrote the most accessible book on S/M. O is universal in her desire to please. She is set apart only by her ability and willlingness to explore the depth of her passions.
