Summary: Timeless Tales review
Review: By TT reviewer Amy L. TurpinRem Q'an Tal has been searching for his Sacred Mate since he was freed from marriage to a woman not meant for him, without success. The mighty warrior is showing the strain of a Trystoni male without a Sacred Mate, the one woman in the entire galaxy who can complete him. The change starting to transform him is frightening, to say the least. As he quests to the fifth dimension, to Earth, he finally has success. Only finding his Sacred Mate is almost enough to push him over the edge to madness. His "wee wife" is the very picture of the Goddess he worships and Rem is enchanted, to say the least. His wife, the almost-spinster Giselle McKenzie, is covered from head to toe in the most bedeviling "spots!" Giselle is not sure what to think about the giant warrior who has claimed her as his wife. The bouts of near-madness he endures are enough to wrench her heart, but, being the attentive if exasperated wife, she soon finds the cure for his ailment. What she cannot deal with is the fascination with her freckles every man she comes across seems to have once she leaves Earth! Although she neither understands everything happening to her or why her feelings for this gentle-giant are growing with every passing minute in his presence, she knows she loves him with her very being. She knows this man would do anything to keep her safe. When he leaves her to go help his brother and best friend fight the very creature he almost became, even though she has her misgivings, she says nothing. She can only hope she has the courage to save his family. For sure, a bewitching sequel to 'The Empress' New Clothes." I was hooked from the first! Ms. Black's style is endearing and she writes with outstanding humor. There were other stories within this work, some simply touched on enough to get the reader's attention, others more in-depth. Even though I am looking forward to reading those stories, which I'm sure was the author's intention; I found it distracted from the main story somewhat. Overall, this book was an outstanding read and is recommended for the lover of science fiction and romantica, or for anyone simply looking for something as humorous as it is fantastical!

Review: I found the book annoying for example the so-called hero had these episodes where he could only be calmed by sucking at the heroine's breasts,most of the situations were demeaning to both sexes ,there was very little genuine tenderness or feeling. If it was meant to be Science Fiction it was a flop, witness the scene where the woman gives birth to an egg that contained their children, as for erotica, it left me feeling kind of queasy - in one village the women were not only forced to go around naked they also had to wear collars and leashes ,in another section they had to sit with their legs wide open exposing themselves, I guess it caters more to the bondage crowd,but to me the prose itself seemed rather unimaginative and juvenile.I guess this really does come down to personal preferences

Review: Rem has despaired of ever finding his real Sacred Mate. Rem's brothers and friends are concern about Rem devolving. If he doesn't find his Sacred Mate soon he will do just that. Rem had been trick into believing another was his Sacred Mate and had endure endless years with a women that could not and would not fulfill him. So his friend Death and his brother Kil convince Rem to search Earth for his mate. Kil cannot accompany the others but he entrust Rem's safety to Death. Giselle has despaired of ever finding a man that will marry her. She is tired of being a virgin and takes steps to rid herself of her virginit. The man she picks leaves much to be desired but he is the only one available and Giselle will not give up. When the dinner were this is suppose to happen ends with Giselle's fork is inexplicably planted between the man eyes Giselle realizes that she has lost. She thinks. Rem has found his mate and he will not let her go, literally. Giselle is not sure of the man who has kidnapped her but hse is unwiling to anger him. She also has a unique way of keeping him calm. You will laugh and cheer as these two grow to love each other.

Summary: Lackluster Romance w/Some Offensive Situations
Review: Rem Q'an Tal, King of Sypar, High Lord of the Gryok Sectors knew that he was going to die soon if he didn't find his Sacred Mate. He had been alive for hundreds of years and could feel himself starting to turn into a beast. He knew his brothers feared for him, but he had searched the universe over and had yet to find his sacred mate. Still, Rem was willing to go on one last search with Lord Death in the hopes of finding the special woman who would complete him and make him sane again... Giselle McKenzie, an Australian, was determined to get rid of her virginity that night. She was 36 years old and it was extremely embarrassing to still be untouched by man. It was true that Anthony was a disgusting loser, but better to get her first night over with and move on. She was just about to close the deal when she heard the strange growling and saw some startling blue eyes. Whatever it was, it also managed to stab Anthony with a fork and he lost all interest in bedding her for the time being. The next thing Giselle knew, she was on a spaceship flying out to who knows where with a gorgeous blond giant named Rem who claims that she is his sacred mate. Giselle is determined to make Rem take her back to earth, but Rem refuses to listen to her and every time she tries to cover her nakedness, Rem starts growling and turning into a beast. To keep him calm, she has to let him suckle her breasts constantly and cater to his every whim. Giselle certainly doesn't like to be seen prancing around in public wearing nothing but two sheer scraps of fabric, but what else can she do? To make things worse, everyone seems obsessed with her freckles and keep comparing her to the Goddess Aparna. If Rem shows off his favorite configuration of spots one more time, Giselle thinks she is going to scream! Just when she thinks things cannot get worse, their spaceship malfunctions and they are forced to stop over in Joo, a backwards planet with limited flying capabilities and a long, hard walk to the nearest spacestation. As Rem and Giselle journey together, Rem takes the opportunity to show Giselle exactly what it means for her to be his queen - and he shows her no mercy - in anything... This book started off just fine and I was intrigued to see how Jaid Black handled Rem and his growing madness (as we were introduced to him in The Empress' New Clothes, the first book in this series) and I liked Giselle because she is spunky and sensitive and funny, but it went downhill from the time they landed on Joo. I know that this is an erotic book and that a lot of people are into domination, but I found the entire planet to be quite distasteful. First of all, the native women are not allowed clothing on Joo, but men are, of course. In the first town, Giselle sees a public auction where they are auctioning off an 18 year old girl who is prompted to show everything she has (and I do mean everything) and then suck on the men who are bidding on her to show off her skills. In the village of Lii-Lii, the women are not permitted clothing - not even foreign women, noble or whatever - and must be leashed and collared. In another village, women are naked, leashed and have to open their thighs and let men have a good look when speaking to a male. In the village of Treeka, women are not allowed the use of credits and have to barter for everything by suckling on men. Giselle pouted over the situation, but didn't really try to protest and seemed to take to being displayed and having intercourse in public like a duck to water. She also forgave Rem for anything and everything he did - even when he was laughing at her! I definitely could not do this and I have a hard time believing a virgin of 36 years would be so comfortable. The men are really hot in the series, but they treat their women, Sacred Mate or bond servant or slave or whatever, as objects that are simply there and available for sex wherever, whenever and however they please. I also felt that the story was extremely short. The book is not that long to begin with and only about half of it deals with Giselle and Rem. The remainder jumps back to Cam and Kara (introduced in The Empress' New Clothes) and Kil. I felt that the author was just trying to piece together the events that happened here and what she was going to do in the next book without really trying to make this a true story in and of itself. This is the second book in this series that I have read by Jaid Black and I won't waste my time on any more.

Review: There was so little plot in this book that I almost stopped reading it. This was my first Jaid Black book, and probably my last. Don't expect the quality you'd see in something by Robin Schone. If you count quality by the number of sex scenes, this may be your type of book; if you want well written erotica, try something else.

Summary: Very offensive, but very addicting.
Review: We met Rem in the 1st. book "The empress' new clothes, who had been tricked into matinh with Jera, not his sacred mate. She met her demise at the end of the 1st. book. Kara, the empress retrieved Rem's necklace when she was killed.
This story is 18 years after Empress & we see the Q'an Tal children grown up. Rem is very near to his devolution & needs his sacred mate. He finds her on 1st. demention Earth, brings her to the 7th. demention.
We don't see no consummation feasts in this story as Rem is unable to control the beast within with unmated warriors tasting Giselle, he would loose control.
By the time they arrive on Rem's home planet thet already have twin children, born & hatched on their journey.
This series is turning out to be very offending to me but it is a very addicting read, but saying that I do not like the way the women are so subservient to the men & if they step out of line are disiplined in front of the sacred mates warriors. The women have no rights, even the right to wear clothes. On The planet Joo, women there have to walk around naked & with a dog collar on. Rem joked that Giselle might enjoy it & should take the collar & lead home with them so others can try it . This is one thing that I don't like about this series. The men say they love their wives, but how can they & treat them in the way they do.

Review: What can I say about Jaid Black's books??? Two words "Yummy Yummy"!! My three favorite characters are Rem, Kil and Cam. So I can't wait for Kil's and Cam's story. Now "No Mercy" is Rem's story and his quest to find his sacred mate before his transformation. From a far he finds Giselle on her date with a loser so that she can finally get rid of her virginity. Her date with Mr. Loser becomes a date from hell courtesy of Rem. (Oh, that was sooooo good) When Rem finally abducts her and gives the necklace, then their adventure begins. Can't give too much away but all I can say is that I wish I had spots... This is the second book I've read from Ms. Black and can't wait for the next ones...Readers, read her books outside in below zero temperatures because her books are soooo hot:) Or maybe read her books naked standing infront of the air con...
