Summary: A book worth reading
Review: I loved this book. I didn't want it to ever end. I love all of Zane's books.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Two women in one body--innocence and experience
Review: Jonquinette Pierce has never had a boyfriend, never made love, never even had strong friendships with other women, but her body has. The weekdays belong to Jonquinette--weekends and nights, to Jude. Jude emerged in second grade, when Jonquinette was being picked on by other girls. Jude wasn't afraid to break the rules, to use violence to protect her fellow self. And when Jonquinette's fears drive her from sex, Jude takes over that part of her existance as well. But now, Jonquinette is seeking psychiatric help--and Jude is threatened. Will she destroy their common body in her efforts to fight back, or will she, perhaps, take over completely?

Author Zane combines strong erotica with a well-thought-out discussion of multiple personality disorder. Jude is hot, using sex for pleasure, empowerment, and self-destructiveness simultaneously. Jonquinette is inexperienced when it comes to sex, but is definitely interested, especially when a hunk moves into her condo complex. Zane also deals with African-American culture and the relationship between blacks and whites in America, but weaves this theme into her story seamlessly.

Developing multiple personalities is a reaction to extreme stress. Jonquinette will have to come to terms with her past if she is ever to re-integrate her personality. Jude's protectiveness is on full force. She's fighting to protect Jonquinette and herself, even if it kills both of them. Over the course of the story, Jude becomes more and more destructive attempting to ruin Jonquinette's work environment, her budding romance, and her relationship with both of her parents. Even Jude cannot understand what she fears most--until both sides of this woman must confront it.

Zane's writing is straightforward and approachable, with explicit language that may offend some readers. Her discussion of MPD is sympathetic and psychologically sound. I thought Jonquinette moved into a sexual relationship with Mason without as many problems as I would expect in a conflicted character, but the healthy bonding between Jonquinette and Mason, contrasted with Jude's unhealthy obsession with sex, created a strong contrast.

NERVOUS begins with a short story Zane wrote for an earlier collection--a story that expresses elements of MPD and inspired, but is not quite that of Jonquinette and Jude. The dichotomies between good-girl/bad-girl, angel/whore, innocence/experience are neatly laid out with the device of multiple persons in a single body.

Summary: Zane is making ME "Nervous"!!!!!
Review: Being a Zane fan I naturally bought this book. But I guess my expectations were too high!! Although I enjoyed reading the book, in my opinion it was predictable. After reading Addicted I am suprised the story went in the direction it did. Nevertheless, I am still a fan of Zane and look forward to something "different" in her future works.

Summary: Read it in one day!
Review: Zane has done it again! Could not put the book down! This is definetly a must read!

Summary: ANOTHER WINNER FROM ZANE........!!
Review: Zane doesn't disappoint with her tale of a young woman with multiple personalities....the dominant personality is sensitive, reclusive, and a complete sexual innocent. The other, however, is just the opposite; her life is one explicit sexual exploit after another. Jonquinette, the dominant personality, realizes that there is a reason for her "blackouts" and seeks professional help. Enter, the psychologist from "Addicted," who recognizes that Jon has Multiple Personality Disorder--and even meets Jude, who admits to going on sexual rampages and claims to be Jon's "protector."

Zane fans familiar with her work will love the presence of recurring characters (from "Addicted") and Zane of course delivers a steamingly good tale with enough hot sex scenes to scorch a reader's fingers.....

The ending is a mindblower! Great job, Zane, and I'm anxiously awaiting the next........

Summary: Great
Review: This was a quick, entertaining read. There were many points in the book where I was thinking "Jude, please don't come out. Please don't come out." The plot, dialogue (besides the unbelievable way Jonquinette starts saying P*ssy even though she's so innocent) and the theme were polished. But, I was disappointed about the reasoning behind her madness considering I liked the "reason" a lot. The "reason" had my sympathy, so I was a little hurt that the "reasoning" had to get help too! Read the book. Enjoy it! Jude was a woman with a p*nis basically and boy was she hilarious.

Review: This book was sooo good that I gave it around of applause when I read the last sentence. In order to understand the story, first read the short story in Sex Chronicles, then RUN and get the book. This story has some serious many plot changes, that'll have you not wanting to put it down. I read it in 2 days!!! Zane's writing captures the reader and brings it to you, FULL FORCE.

The final 2 chapters in the book will have you like WHOA!!!! I'm still trippin, LOL. Like I said RUN DONT WALK and purchase this book. It is well worth the money. OOOO for you Addicted lovin folks, Zoe make an appearance in Nervous.

Summary: Not what i thought, but a nice change!!!!!
Review: This book is still not for the weak at heart but it is good. Zane puts a spin on this one. It is a trip, but the thing is this could happen in real life. This story had a deeper plot than some of the others, but ut is still one of her best books. All I have to say is have an open mind when reading.
