Rating: Summary: early poems Review: This collection was privately published while Morrison was still alive. It contains his early poetry, full of epigrams and philosophical fragments of observation on film, sex, mysticism, night-life, and society, among other things. I think it's his best and most readable poetry.David Rehak author of "Poems From My Bleeding Heart"
Rating: Summary: This book RULES! Review: This is the only book of Morrison's poetry that I have read, and I must say it was great. The vivid imagery created was haunting, frightening even. But Morrison cotorts it to a way that was quite thought provoking. I really liked it.
Rating: Summary: Jim Morrison at work Review: To even begin to scratch the surface of trying to understand Jim Morrison of The Doors, you must read this book. Your journey will include listening to the CDs, of course, and even reading what others have written about him and the other members of the band. There is an incredible number of books about Morrison and the Doors--more than almost every other rock artists, I would guess. But you will be seeing and hearing only part of the picture until you read the first widely published volume of Morrison's musings-- his own writings in his own words, unadulterated and unfiltered.
Rating: Summary: fantastic book, borrowing heavily from blake and rimbaud Review: Unfortunately your day-glo electric cover was so ugly i carved it off with an exacto knife so i wouldn't have to look at the pseudo-acid-y colors. The original edition, now no longer available had a much more interesting cover and didn't use his doors fame as much to sell the book.
Rating: Summary: Cold Finland at Christmastime 18.12.1998 Review: `Cause English isn't my real language, I didn't understand all the words, but those I did... The World lost a lot when it lost Jim. He was a poet, singer, incredibly good lookin', but most of all the Poet. I've never read anything like that in my hole life, and I never will. He was something really special and his poetry... WOW! Dark, but not too much. Love, hate, all the powerful feelings. Feelings that matter. You oughta read this if you haven't done it yet.
