Summary: Patterson Delivers Another Winner
Review: Kerry Kilcannon is a man with a rough beginning, firm convictions, and the integrity and drive that makes him someone we can all look up to, whether we agree or disagree with his stands. This topical novel, which is amazingly close to reality (coincidentally), is entertaining and absolutely riveting. I found myself rooting for Kerry and wishing we had people like him in Washington. Though a departure from his usual legal thriller genre, Richard North Patterson spins another can't-put-down story. Highly recommended for Patterson fans.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Okay But Definitely Not Up To Par
Review: No Safe Place is somewhat of a departure from what fans have come to expect from this author. While well-written, the plot is mostly predictable and mechanical. Unlike most other books by R.N. Patterson there are no major surprises. No Safe Place would be okay to take from the library but save your money to buy another book.

Rating: 2 stars
Summary: Flat and kinda boring
Review: This guy can write a good book. This isn't a good example of it. The whole thing is just too predictable. If this had been his first novel it would rate a 3 star maybe, but this is so much worse than other two novels I have read it deserves a lower rating. Better luck next time, RNP.

Summary: His Best Yet
Review: I have read all of Mr. Patterson's books. I have liked all of them well enough but none of them compare to "No Safe Place". The story is so well written and the characters so realistically defined that I had to keep reminding myself that it is a work of fiction. I may not agree with all of the political messages that are being expressed by the hero, but I couldn't help admiring him for the positions he takes and his reasons for taking them.

It is a political thriller and a love story all wrapped into one. I found myself alternately laughing out-load at the sheer brilliance of what was being said or silently crying for the hurt and suffering that these people were going through.

I wish there were an instant sequel to this story so I could continue to follow the lives of these characters to which I have become so fond. I say "Well Done" to Mr. Patterson and I hope his next book is soon to be released.

Summary: Excellent departure from his legal thrillers!!
Review: Written berfore the current Clinton scandal; this is an excellent revelation of how a seemingly innocent affair in a politicians past can return to haunt him. A bit of a departure from RNP's usual (and excellent) legal thrillers and courtroom drama; this is never the less a great read. A page turner from the very beginning. Highly recommeded!

Summary: A must read! Patterson's best work!
Review: Talk about a page turner ... this book keeps you enthralled from start to finish. I did not want the book to end and at the same time I wanted to finish it quickly to find out what happens. I was sad that it was over when I was done. It is well written and researched. Very accurate in depicting the state of today's politics. What would you have done? Would you have voted for this candidate?

Summary: Sucks!!
Review: This book is really predictable and boring. Thank god I read it at the bookstore while my wife shopped. Do yourself a favor and pass this one up, or wait and get it at the library. In addition it's yet another preachy novel where the novelist just has to ram his liberal views down your throat. Seems every writer now a days just must make a political statement. I just wish, instead, they would write a good tale.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Compelling Political Thriller
Review: You don't have to be a Richard North Patterson fan to enjoy this exciting departure from his usual (and very good) courtroom dramas. I am an avid reader of political thrillers would rank this as one of the better ones of the year, up there with The Abduction by James Grippando.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Excellent; much better writer than the "other Patterson"
Review: This is a book you can't put down. It's well written, well-researched, shows a grasp of the law and politics and the DC milieu. Most important, you really "care" about the characters. It works as a beach book, but it also makes you think about it afterwards; i.e., disturbing, thought-provoking yet entertaining. I recommend it highly.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Thumbs Up
Review: Politicians dominate our lives more than cops, but more thrillers are written about cops than politicians; which is why I love NO SAFE PLACE. It is real suspense page-turner, the best since Craig Furnas' THE SHAPE, but with some good points to ponder thrown in the mix. A first-rate read.
