Rating: Summary: One of the best Review: As a beginer this is the book I started with, and it help alot, most of the other information I found tends to be really new age-ish. Though I'm still studying, I'd suggest this book for those interested in embracing Nothren Paganism.
Rating: Summary: Good book but overpriced here. Review: Gundarsson's work is by far the best I have encountered on the subject and I recommend it highly to anyone who is interested in learning about the Teutonic Path. There is more than enough accurate (it's so hard to find good work)information contained in this one book to get started. Too bad it's out of print.

Rating: Summary: a great book Review: I been into the norse pagan religion for three or so years now, gundarsson knows his material! This is not for the beginner,His take on the runes is very thought out,and has helped me alot in my own studies. This is a bit "new age" He definetly has that eastern influence,But it is still a good book for anyone interested in embracing the northern faith.
Rating: Summary: Excellent treatment of the subject. Review: I have long been curious about Asatru, and picked this book up on a whim a few years ago. I was extremely taken with the learned and well reasoned presentation of the information in the book. Unlike so many "neo-pagan" books, I found that this one presented an actual religion rather than a system for trying to work "magic" spells. The discussion of Asatru beliefs was very clear, and is enhanced by the inclusion of references. I found the lengthy bibliography and list of books suggested for further study particularly helpful. I'm very glad I picked up this book rather than the extremely lame book "Norse Magic" by Conway, which had been next to it on the shelf at the store. (And Conway's book is still sitting there . . . .) It is a great shame this book has gone out of print. I strongly recommend it anyone who is interested in Asatru. I will be looking for other books by Gundarsson.
Rating: Summary: THE BEST OF THE LOT Review: I have read quite a few books on Teutonic mythology and religion, and I believe this book to be the best of all of them. The author's knowledge is extensive and quite impressive. From mythology, to germanic history, to crafting a horn cup to brewing ale, this man knows his stuff! His approach is encouraging and acessible to beginners and advanced alike. In this book you will get a well-rounded education, and a good, solid start on Asatru. Nothing is left out, but the book never feels stiff or too scolarly. I appreciated the fact that the author encourages you to create your own rites, but has provided his own to get you started. I found his rites to be well-written and very usable. He includes a great further reading list, as well as a glossary, which I find myself referring to again & again. I cannot stress enough that this book is all anyone would need in order to have a working knowledge of Asatru: its philosophies, its origins, its heroes, its godesses/gods, its holidays, its beliefs, etc. If you want it all in one wonderful book, then this is the one! Llewellyn is not reprinting this classic book.
Rating: Summary: Only a 10?? Can't I give an 11? Review: Kveldulf is the definitive source for all things Teutonic. Edred Thorsson may have the edge when it comes to runes, but for absolutely everything else (and even the runes) buy this book! (and it's partner book, "Teutonic Magic". This man is a modern day skald, getting the information to those in need. If you only buy one book this year, make it this one!
Rating: Summary: The best book on the subject that I have found Review: Superb, in depth information regarding the troth, rituals, gods, and every other aspect of the Northern Way. I HIGHLY recommend this book and every publication by Gundarsson.
Rating: Summary: Good and educational. Review: This book is a good discripation of the Tuetonic ways. It is a hard book for people to understand. But the general knowledge given is excellent. The Runes and Rituals are nicely presented but lack a little bit of understanding. Overall I would say that this book is for the newest and most experienced believers and people looking to learn.
Rating: Summary: Good book but overpriced here. Review: This book is an excellent resource for those interested in Asatru. It may be out of print but there is now an ebook of it available at Freya Aswynn's site for much cheaper.
