Rating: Summary: Identity and Self-Respect Review: This is a favorite anthology of mine from the Great Books Foundation. My book group isn't done with all the selections yet, but we've been impressed by the wide variety of writings, and how the questions for discussion really focus us on the literature. We're reading more seriously now and having better discussions. I was especially impressed with the questions for T.S. Eliot's Prufrock - a poem I was VERY familiar with - because the questions really zero in on the text and forced me to read it more carefully than I ever had before. I also got a lot out of the questions for Ellison's Invisible Man (which isn't in the anthology itself). The discussion questions made this complex novel more approachable.
