Rating: Summary: Secret Justice Review: If you like Tom Clancy, Stephen Coontz, Stephen Hunter and Dale Brown you will like James W. Huston's " Secret Justice ". Lieutenant Kent " Rat " Rathman is a mix of John " Jack " Patrick Ryan and Mr. Clark. Caution ! Once you start this book you won't want to put it down for a minute. Be prepared to clear off your schedule and stay up late. I would rate this book 5 stars. I am looking forward to his next book.

Rating: Summary: Another Gem From James W Huston! Review: In his most recent book, Mr. Huston presents the reader with a very timely novel. Dealing with military tribunals of terrorists and examining the limits America will set for itself in pusuit of terrorists. Although I am less a fan of courtroom drama, I enjoyed this book throughly. I just enjoyed Mr. Huston's "flying novels" much more. Anyone who instead goes to pick up the latest Stephen Coonts or Dale Brown book, should stop from doing that and pick up Secret Justice first. This is just a good book to read and I am already waiting for his next novel this time next year, hopefuly by then the publisher will have someone with a brain read the back cover and spot the glaring errors that were made. Too bad some sloppy editing managed to spoil the book's back cover. Keep up the great work, Mr. Huston!

Rating: Summary: Rat Returns Review: In Secret Justice, the best yet of James W. Huston's highly-readable techno-military thrillers, Lieutenant "Rat" Rathman returns for the capture the world's most dangerous terrorist. As with Huston's other novels, this one is fast-paced and intertwines several compelling plot lines. The courtroom trial scenes, a trademark of Huston's novels, are remarkably believable and appropriately tense, perhaps the result of Huston's own substantial experience as a trial lawyer. Huston's diligence in research is also well-reflected in his description of the risks associated with terrorist access to the large number of aging, portable nuclear powered generators which are still to be found in the former Soviet Union. The danger that nuclear "dirty bombs" could actually be made from these sources is a major and troubling theme of Secret Justice. Rat's return to action makes Secret Justice a worthy addition to the Huston library.

Rating: Summary: Great Read!!!! Review: James W. Huston broke onto the scene with a pair of spectacular books: BALANCE OF POWER and THE PRICE OF POWER. Mr. Huston deftly combined weighty legal issues with exciting action.
SECRET JUSTICE proves that he still has the touch. Special Forces Soldeir Kent "Rat" Rathman gets the job done in capturing an OBL like terrorist. The messy business of fighting terrorism comes down to killing people and this is never clean or as simple as it looks on TV.
Rathman brings home his man, but a second terrorist dies and the attending doctor decides the man was tortured. He files a brief with the world court, turning the tables on Rathman where the hero becomes the goat.
This nightmare scenario is all too possible in the politically correct/internationalist foreign policy promulgated by short sighted politicians.
No spoilers in this excellent and important book.

Rating: Summary: There Is A Lot of Truth in this Fiction - A Must Read!! Review: James W. Huston has written another top flight novel about the world we live in. Well, we all live in it, but few of us experience it like Kent Rathman,a/k/a Rat, who is simply the best counter terrorisim person in the service of the United States. So why is he on trial? Charged with manslaughter of a terrorist. The answer to that question is a rich mix of characters. Politicians, military people, terrorists, the media and on and on are the components of a novel which you will not want to put down. Huston catches the biases and fears of many in this country on one of the burning issues of our time and gives the reader both a terrific read and many things to think about.
Rating: Summary: Great Read Review: This book had it all. Great action, great courtroom drama. Great characters that you love (and lawyers and liberal sympathizers that you despise). This is Hustons best book yet. My only gripe is the choice of weapons for the main characters.
Rating: Summary: Super Read - scary premise Review: This is such an appalling, yet possible plot! One hates to think this could really happen...Great characters and the sub-plots weave together very well. Action packed - fast read! RTG's in Russia? - I certainly believe that! This could take terrorism to a new high - Huston does a lot of research and knows his subject matter. I have read all of his books and this is best yet! RAT is a super character - thought Skyles was too! Keep'em coming Jim! Ann Williams
