Rating: Summary: The Gospels Paraphrased Review: "Time was running out, Jesus realized."My mother gave this book to me on my 24th Christmas, an automatic, eternal spring cleaning survivor! I remember her pointing out to me that in this story, Jesus has a little dog and when he became a young man had affections for a shepherd girl. Of course, nothing came of that...However, despite those artistic licenses, the book does follow the gospel story line and does not contaminate the story with any controversial teachings. The story content follows traditional Christian teaching. The book begins with Mary watching her son sleeping, reflecting on his thin, tired body, but so glad He was home to attend with his family a cousin's wedding feast at Cana, the site of Jesus' first miracle . It ends with Pentecost. And Holmes' final statement "And from that day to this, all who love and follow Him anxiously await His return. It was refreshing to read the gospel this way.
Rating: Summary: QUITE POSSIBLY THE GREATEST BOOK I'VE EVER READ Review: This gets a rating above 10- Marjorie Holmes has taken the life of Jesus, and those around Him, and made Him real. She takes biblical truths and weaves them with storytelling, breaking your heart with each word, as you get to know Jesus all over again, in a new way. This third book, following Two from Galilee & Three from Galilee brings it all home to your heart. This book and the others before it, MUST BE READ! What a beautiful tribute to Him to make His life real in a way no one else has. You must read these!
Rating: Summary: Was great,I felt I was walking with Jesus Review: This was a most inspiring novel. Everyone should read the accounts of Jesus, I felt like I was with him. I could not put the book down. Now I want to read "The Three from Galilee".
