Rating: Summary: Great book Review: This is one of my favorite British romance/comedy books. Although I agree with the reviewer who thought it was crude, there were lines that I thought should've definitely been edited out, it was still great. The fact that Rachel is actually a funny comedian makes the book a hilarious read, paired with a saucy, fun romance...this is a great airplane book, I was sorry when it was over. Especially when I tried her other book Neurotica afterwards which was horrible.
Rating: Summary: A wickedly delightful comedy Review: This isn't the side-splitting laughter book I expected like her first book, Neurotica, but it is funny, sweet, erotic and just plainly delightful!!Rachel, a struggling stand-up comedian, was in the midst of a so-so relationship with a dentist when she met Matt, the washing machine repairman. And the story takes off from there, with parents whom she suspects are swingers in their "old age," an ex-husband who left her for another man, a son who is wildly in love with Barbra Streisland, a comedy competition that soured because someone stole her material .... and falling in love with Matt. It is an entertaining love story ... one that will linger in your mind after reading it. Sue Margolis is known for her racy books injected with British humor, and this book doesn't disappoint!! I can't wait to read more of her books!! She is one British author I am keeping on the top of my list. If it's a gray and rainy day outside, then I'll be sure to pick up one of her books ~~ she's entertaining enough to keep the blahs away for a few hours!
Rating: Summary: Rachel & "Rinse" Charming Review: What a great book!!!! Cute and entertaining wouldn't even begin to describe it. I loved every minute spent on every page, and found myself dying to get back to reading the novel while I was out or doing other things. Talk about being hooked!!
This is the first time that I have read a book by Sue Margolis, and I think I started with the right one!
SPIN CYCLE had me smacking my knees with laughter. It was witty, and cleverly written... and not to mention sexy!!!!!!!!!! ('Shamelessly erotic' is right!). That washing machine man REALLY knew how to handle his load (*wink*wink*).
Rachel Katz is a struggling comedienne who has accepted that her ex-husband left her --- for another man, convinced that her fiancé is cheating on her, worried about her son's obsession with Barbra Streisand, and trying to figure out her mother's sexy secret all at the same time. She meets and falls hard for Matt Clapton, the sexy washing machine repairman who understands her and supports her and sweeps her off her feet. All of these situations make for a hugely hilarious and romantic comedy.
This is definitely chick-lit at it's best!!! Sophie Kinsella had better make some room over at the top of my "fave chick-lit authors" pedestal!!
Rating: Summary: Re-Cycle this spin Review: wow!! well, this book started out fun for me and then tapered off a bit. however, it picked right back up after about 50 pages and i just ran with it. word to the wise -- do not read this book if you will be near others......there are a few erotic scenes that might cause flushing, excitement, sheer pleasure..... this book was about a young woman in her 30's who was not willing to settle for her 'lot' in life. she gave up a very prominent career for her 'dream' which was very admirable. she did not stick with 'what she was dealt'. it was a fun read and the story line was kept up nicely. i would highly recommend this book. it was nicely written with a beautiful ending.
