Summary: Redstripe & other Dachshund Tales
Review: I thoroughly enjoyed Redstripe and shared it with other Dachshund friends. I giggled through the antics of the little hounds in this book. The characters are amazingly realistic to the breed and the book is very enjoyable fast reading.
I have a background in dog grooming and dog breeding and have read numerous dog books throughout my the years so I would like to compliment Mr. Magestro on his amusing compilation of stories so accurate to this strong willed little hound breed.

Summary: Very Captivating and warm
Review: If you ever owned a dachshund you will love the contents of this book. If you don't own one you will after reading about Bernard and Belle. Smile. The short stories are quite intriguing and really hold your attention. Once you start reading it, expect to not put it down until you have completed the whole contents. Redstripe, Bernard, and Belle are wonderful little creatures that happen to be dachshunds. Bernard and Belle by far were my most favorite little characters. Too bad most men aren't like Bernard...teehee. To find out what I mean about Bernard you must purchase the book and find out for yourself. I'm not telling. I found out about this book through TDN. I am glad I did.

Summary: Jack Magestro is a proud dachshund owner
Review: Redstripe And Other Dachshund Tales by retired educator Jack Magestro is a humorous and merry collection of five short stories about the exploits of dachshunds - a beloved breed of pet also colloquially known as "weiner dogs." Jack Magestro is a proud dachshund owner, and Redstripe And Other Dachshund Tales is a delightful and witty treat sure to resonate with people everywhere who have their own canine companions as part of "the family".

Summary: Redstripe is a delight!
Review: This book is a must for any dachshund lover or dog lover. Jack captures the essence (and quirks) of the breed with his stories. I had the pleasure of "getting to know" Jack and Belle via the on-line dachshund email list a few years back and was thrilled to see his stories in print for everyone to enjoy.

Summary: A true love story
Review: This book is a real love story about the pure affection and enthusiasm that dogs, particularly our "hotdogs" (I have two), generate. And, it does so with humor and optimism in the spirit of Herriot.

I particularly liked the Christmas story which celebrated the unique gifts given to us by this breed, while humanizing-- but still respecting-- the manger scene.

Good work, Jack!

Review: This reviewer is one of many dachshund lovers who has known Jack electronically for years via various online dachshund chatrooms. This book was fed to us bit by bit over the years and it is so exciting to finally see it in print and available to everyone. A great read for all ages and one that kids will wants to hear over and over.
