Rating: Summary: Chelsea _* Review: I thought this was great love/ comedy. The only thing that I didnt like is the fact that this book was so predictible. The main characters are don john, Don pedro, Claudio, Her, Leonato, Margarret, Ursula, Beatrice, and Benedick. Beatrice and Benedick fall in love at the end of the book as well as Hero and Claudio. As in a good old novel, the couples live happily ever after and this is my only complaint towards this book. 3 stars! Thanks.
Rating: Summary: Jen Rawding: Much Ado About Nothing Review Review: Love...Betrayal...Friendship...Deception. Just a few of the many themes that William Shakespeare's comedy talks about. The story is set in Messina, Italy in the 1600's. The story begins with prince Don Pedro's men returning to Messina after defeating Don John (his brother born out of wedlock). As in many of Shakespeare's writings, the child born out of wedlock is the villain of the story. Count Claudio, one of Don Pedro's men, tells the prince that he is in love with Leonato's (the governor of Messina) fair daughter Hero. Don Pedro agrees to court Hero and presents her to Claudio for marriage. Don John however, has different plans. He and his comrade Borachio come up with a plan to ruin Claudio and shame Leonato. Meanwhile, Don Pedro, Leonato, Hero and Claudio have a plan to fix up Beatrice and Benedick. Both plans go exactly as they were planned. On his wedding day, Claudio shames Hero and the rest of her family. However, thr friar believes Claudio is mistaken and creates a plan for HEro to pretend she is dead and go into hiding. Meanwhile they will find out the truth and figure out how to punish Claudio. Howeve, the story takes a nasty turn when Beatrice asks Benedick to prove his love to her by killing Cluadio. Will the story end happily? Will Hero's name ever be cleared? What will happen to Claudio? To find out, read the book!
Rating: Summary: MISS O !!!! Review: Much Ado About Nothing by William Shakespeare is an old English book that is somewhat funny. The main theme of this book is love and deception. The main characters are Don Pedro, Don John, Claudio, Benedick, Leonato, Beatrice, Borachio, Margaret, Ursla and Hero. The setting is in the 1500's in Messina, Italy. This book is hard to understand because it is written in old English slang. I definately wouldn't read this book on my own time but it was an okay book.
The main idea of this book is about people who are in love with each other but they are afraid to admit it. Cladio loves Hero, Benidick loves Beatrice, and Margaret loves Borachio. Don John, the brother of the prince, tries to mess up everyone's life and eventually gets caught for his evil actions. Claudio and Hero end up solving their problems caused by Don John. They end up getting married. At the wedding Beatrice and Benedick express their love in public for the first time. They too get married. I had difficulty understanding the book, however, overall it was a pretty good book.
Rating: Summary: Kara-- Much Ado About Nothing Review: Much Ado About Nothing by William Shakespeare was an okay book. The old English was hard to understand but the plot was more interesting. In the book, Don Pedro, the prince, and his illegitimate brother, Don John have come to visit the governor of Messina, Italy after being at war. Don John lost this fight to Don Pedro. Claudio, one of Don Pedro's men, is in love with Leonato's, the governor's, daughter, Hero. Don Pedro decides to help Claudio By wooing Hero in Claudio's name and asking Leonato for permission to marry her. Don John and his men plot against this plan and say that Don Pedro wants Hero for himself. This kind of drama and controversy like this continue throughout the book.
Rating: Summary: Laura* [ f0r Naner0oo! ] Review: Much Ado About Nothing by William Shakespeare wasn't a book I would recommend to other people my age. As a result of the old English, the story is hard to understand. The story takes place in Messina, Italy in the early 1600's. At the beginning we read that Don Pedro is returning from war after defeating his brother, Don John. Don John wasn't born from the same father as Don Pedro, and therefore doesn't have the same significance as Don Pedro. After returning to Messina, one of Don Pedro's men, Claudio falls in the love with Hero. Hero is the governor of Messina, Leonato's daughter. Claudio is planning on marrying Hero if it is okay with Leonata. After Don Pedro hears news of this, Don John immediately thinks of a way to ruin the plans of the marriage and make a joke of Leonato in front of everyone. Beatrice, Leonato's niece will not admit her love for Benedick, while Benedick tries to deny his love for Beatrice. They are constantly arguing through the book, until Don John's plan falls through and Claudio believes he sees Hero with another man, and tells everyone she is not a virgin. After that Leonato is ashamed of Hero, but Friar comes up with a plan to pretend Hero is dead, while she is just in hiding. While Hero is hiding the truth comes outs and Beatrice is furious because she believed in Hero the whole time. It is at this time her and Benedick confess their love for each other, but Beatrice tells Benedick to prove his love by killing Claudio for what he did to Hero. Claudio finds out the truth, and the wedding happens. Claudio and Hero wed along with Benedick and Beatrice. The story was confusing at times, but in the end it had a good plot and wasn't the worst book I have ever read.
