Summary: Read This Book!
Review: "Married Men" is a Book that recounts the lives of several male friends as they go through life's trials and tribulations. The story is told from the perspective of the men: Jay, Will, Kyle, and Allan. They are either married, or about to get married, and that's where the problems begin. Carl Weber does a masterful job of showing the personality of each of these characters: Jay is a hopeless womanizer who is marred with two kids. Will is married and his wife is expecting their first child. Kyle is a successful business man who is married with 3 kids. Allen is nice guy who is engaged to be married to a woman who is selfish, self-centered, bossy, and manipulative. This book will open your eyes to relationships men have with other men and the women they say they love.

Summary: I Loved It!!
Review: As a female reader, I recommend this as must-read novel to explore the male psyche---granted it's fictional, but it was entertaining to read "tales of drama and relationships" from the male perspective. I didn't know what to expect based on the title and the cover. I'd heard good things about Mr. Weber, but never read any of his works. This was a book club choice and I wasn't disappointed! It kept my interest to the very end. The author has well defined, fully developed story line for each character in which each has a lesson/message that must be told. Kyle, Wil, Allen and Jay are lifetime, "true-blue, tight-like-glue" friends and are a likeable group of guys that the reader feels comfortable with regardless of their situation. There's Jay-the playa, Kyle-the successful business man with a Caucasian wife, Allen-the nice guy/"Momma's Boy" with the gold digger girlfriend, and Wil - "Mr Huxtable", devoted family man. They all have some serious family/life issues that are dealt with resulting in some VERY surprising outcomes. The story moves at a good pace with lots of laughs and other surprises laden throughout the book. I enjoyed the author's writing style, the plot, and the presentation of the story. I'm going to purchase his first novel and will look forward to reading his next.

Summary: Givin it to ya straight.....no chaser
Review: Congrats!!! to Mr. Weber on a wonderful and outstanding novel. What I read is that no marraige is perfect, every relationship has it's ups and downs. Face it-this is the real world. I felt sorry for Allen and Kenya the most. Here Allen was trying to please 2 women, Rose only wanted his cash, she did not love him. I am glad that her ring wasn't worth any money, and his mother wanted a child so bad before she passed. I knew even before I got to the end of the book that Rose and Ray were up to no good. To think she could be so cold hearted and callous to kill her own mother in law to recieve an insurance check, it was not justified. Jay was a downright D-O-G, Kenya got played the whole marraige and I thought that she deserved better. Diane was too nosey and she should have minded her own business, then on another note Wil told his wife to much about his friends pesonal business. In a way I was glad to see them get back together. Now as far as Kyle and Lisa, Lisa should have stuck by her husband. Kyle did over react to the situation and he did not consider the affect that he had over his daughters. Don't let me forget Tracy, common sense would have told any woman that if you are constantly renting rooms for a few hours of pleasure-than sista gal he is MARRIED!!!. I loved the book, I loved the drama, I loved the fact that Mr. Weber showed that both men and women have flaws, it was not all on the man, but the women in this story had some issues as well. All in all, this book was excellent.....

Summary: Library Closed
Review: I refused to give this book up until I reached the end and on the same day the book was due, I stood outside the closed library in the dark until I was finished (note: I should've bought it, I know how much I like Weber but what's done is done). This book was that good! I wanted to smack Allen for being gullible enough to let Rose step all over him in the most obvious ways (and the whole life policy should've sent up a red flag long ago). I was disappointed that his mother, as swift and strict as she is, didn't catch on to Rose's shifty ways. I enjoyed reading about Will's divorce, etc., and I was kinda relieved when he didn't go off into wonderland about his travels abroad because I was more interested in his story HERE. Characters like Jay are always annoying but fun to read. Then again, all players are fun but annoying. The female characters were sadly realistic and the male characters had the usual flaws. But both made for entertaining reading of a marriage gone sour, a man who can't find a woman to tolerate all of his settling issues, a man who's being run over by his wife and his mother, and a happily married man who has the most IRRITATING gossippy wife in the world!

Summary: Good Book
Review: It's been a couple years since I've read this book, but I still remember it, because it was that good. It kinda felt like I understood for one minute where a man was coming from. All the different situations were unique and the outcomes were even better.

Summary: Male Waiting to Exhale
Review: Jay is a smooth talker and a straight up player. The kind of man mom warns us to stay away from but fall into that web of charm anyway. Jay is also a major hypocrite. He is cheating, but his wife Kenya were to cheat he could not handle it. Oh yeah we all dated someone like Jay at one point in our lives. Tracy really ticked me off. I mean did she honestly think Jay would do right by her? She should have stayed away from him when he had the chance.

Wil loves his big mouth talking wife Denise very much. When his friends set him up at a Bachelor Party and Denise find the pictures can will get his wife to ever trust him again? Kyle is having second thoughts about being married to his white wife Lisa. During a separation, Val is more than happy to step in and show him that being with a black woman is 1,000 times better. Allen is caught between two woman. His mother and the women he loves. The manipulative, gold digging Rose. By the time Allen figures out his mistake, it's too late. No matter what Kyle, Allen, Wil and Jay go through they can count on each other to get through the good, the bad, and the ugly. Rose is the character that sticks out the most. She is so conniving! You will love to hate her!!! I know I did. This book is great!!! Carl Weber is my new favorite Male writer.

Summary: carl, you're two for two
Review: of course, i read lookin for love for luv before this, so i had a pretty good idea about his writing. carl can create good characters and can write dialogue that will have you laughing out loud. however alot of this book was predictable; it's not a deep book, i could see the plot twists from a mile away, and yet i continued to read because the book was fun. i've read the same kind of story dozens of times before, and yet, carl made it fun. allen was the weakest character in the book; he had no backbone, he was a mama's boy, plus, he was -----whipped. i wanted to grab this man and tell him to get his head out of his duffel bag. you're gonna see a man eating your food, groping your woman, and then believe her when she tells you that's her cousin ? no one can be that clueless ! i had a problem with kyle having issues with with his marriage just because lisa was white. he didn't have it in the beginning, so why would've it have bothered him now ? i wouldn't even bother dating outside my race if i wasn't man enough to deal with the problems that come with it...i was very suprised after all that, that lisa and kyle got back together. i did like the fact that carl made one of his principal characters a bbw; he made diane beautiful and desirable; he also gave her enough attitude , that when upset would have made (person) scared . rose is foul with a capital " F." totally despicable; and deals more dirt than a gardener. it's not as a great book, but there was more that i liked than hated about it....

Summary: Superb novel
Review: Sit back and enjoy a fun filled ride through the everyday lives of four successful married friends Kyle, Wil, Allen and Jay. The four guys seem to always have their hands full with many challenges of life. Some of the issues include unfaithfulness, betrayal of trust, a big mouth wife, interracial marriage and a murderess for a wife. As I read, I found myself shaking my head, talking to the characters, laughing out loud and wondering about the consequences of their choices. Kyle, Wil, Allen and Jay shared a deep-rooted and unconditional friendship.

This is one read that shouldn't be missed. The ending was a shocker. I kept thinking this book continues some Jerry Springer material. I can't wait to read your third novel Carl. Continue the drama.

Peace and Blessings to Carl.
