Rating: Summary: A slam dunk! Review: The life of a celebrity always seems so glamorous. In this realistic look at professional basketball players, we realize all that glitters isn't gold. The New York Flyers are on their way to the championships. They need everybody's support in this effort including, players, coaches, agents and even wives and girlfriends. Casey Rodgers, the veteran and star player's wife, has been put in charge with keeping the women in line. With a diva, a troubled nurse, a jealous fiancé, a scheming ex-girlfriend and problems of her own, this is not an easy task. To top it off, the New York Flyers must win the championship or suffer the consequences. All of these things combined make for one helluva story. I was very impressed with this first time effort for Ewing and McCrary. The story was very well-written and realistic. Some of the supporting stories could have been eliminated in order to focus on the major ones, but they were all well done. I found myself a little annoyed with Casey at times but she redeemed herself in the end. Ewing and McCrary have taken the phrase "write what you know" and made it work for them. Rating: Summary: Days of our Flyers Review: The New York Flyers are poised to win the NBA championship IT s the best team in years and they believe they are legitimate championship contenders. Before the playoffs begin however, the team is dealt a staggering blow. The long time Flyer owner is considering a high priced offer from the rich, racist, Leonard Hightower. The only way to halt the team sale is a championship, so the heat is on. The team's star player Brent Rogers and his wife Casey are charged with making sure the championship is delivered. Little did they know that the off the court battles would be more than anything faced by the Flyers on the court. Brent, basketball star and great husband that he is had a daughter as a result of a one-time affair. Casey can't seem to forgive him and faces a tough challenge dealing with him, his daughter and her marching orders from Mrs. Coach to keep the wives "in check" during the playoffs. Once the playoffs begin the Flyers soap opera run begins. Charges of domestic violence, the "outing" of their gay point guard, million dollar gambling debt, cheating and the unexpected double cross by those the team trusts, play out like The Young and The Restless. Fans of NBA basketball should enjoy this entertaining dish. Fans of the Knicks may conclude Ewing and McCrary are talking about their team. Just remember its fiction and all in good fun.
