Review: Greetings All!! I must tell you - this is the first J. California Cooper book I have ever read. It was given to me as a gift. I LOVE TO READ!! When I picked this book up to read, I didn't have the foggiest idea what it was about. These short stories are so moving, REAL, and intriguing!! Some books may get a little boring after a certain point; NOT THIS ONE!!! I stayed up until 3 A.M. for a few nights just to keep reading this book!!! The stories reminded me so much of my grandmother and her time in the south. I learned so much from the stories and they are very entertaining as well. When I finished one story I looked forward to the next one!! You will truly enjoy it!! I look forward to obtaining more of J. California Cooper's books to read!! Summary: Thanks for some of that Soul
Review: I absolutely Loved this book. This was my first J. California Cooper Book and it will not be my last. I tell you I felt like I was sitting around the Kitchen table, Down South somewhere and just listening to one of the Elder Woman telling stories to the younger generation. I really embraced the characters' joys, pains and struggles. They were stories of everyday people that could live next door to you or me (or be you or me) but it gave me a warm feeling. It made me reflect on myself and embrace my struggles. The Author, J. California Cooper is an excellent storyteller and I definately look forward to curling up with more of her hearty stories. I've already purchased A piece of mine and it is pretty consistent with Some Soul to Keep. Enjoy!

Review: Just great writing , and a lesson in each story for any woman traveling with her soul in any relationship . The power that can be in this book is amazing . I have purchased all of J California Cooper's work. And I will never let life nor any man take advantage of me. And for sure people do what they want to do and they will treat you the way they want to treat you . But for sure you must be intouch with your soul to find some piece of mind .

Review: She has done it again for me. J. California Cooper is an extraordianary storyteller that touches your soul.
This is my third book of her short stories that I have read.
Her short stories are sometimes humorous and always wise with real like situations . Dealing with love,marriage, fate, and death overcoming triumphs of some not so perfect people.
Her story will certainly touch you soul .
I bought this book and sit down to just preview it . Before I knew it I had started reading it. Then I could not stop until I had finished them .
I would highly recommend and suggest her work if you have not already read any of her work. She is certainly in a class by herself, no others can compare with her.

Review: Some Soul to Keep is a great book to read. It has many true things that happen in life and people can learn about them. I liked this book because it's really in teresting and it has a lot of drama. This book also makes it easy for a person to understand how the author feels and is talking about. I rated this book a 4 becuase everyone can relate in a way to her stories and it's not boring at all. I got into the book fast and I think who ever read it will, too.

Review: Thank you, Ms. Cooper, for writing such a wonderful, inspiring short long-stories book. I have a 25 year old son, and a 10 year daughter,Some Soul To Keep, is the book that I want them to have right next to their Bible to keep them keeping on through lifes hard-knocks. Gosh, I read this book in one night and wanted more and more. Some Soul To Keep have really open my eyes to letting other people live my life, I don't know how this chapter of my life will end (a bad marriage)but I need to keep my soul to live, your book showed me that. Thank you.
