Rating: Summary: EXCELLENT!!! Review: EXCELLENT...KEPT ME UP AT NIGHT...I'M GOING TO WAIT A YEAR AND READ IT AGAIN...EXCELLENT!!!
Rating: Summary: EXCELLENT Review: I have been wanting to read this book for quite some time. I had it on my Amazon wish list for months. I read the reviews more closely and decided to purchase it. Boy, am I glad I did! This book was excellent. Lyric was a trip. Don't cross her. But in reality she was lonely and wanted a real relationship. Her two best friends, Madison and Portia were a handful. Madison appears to have her act together, but you will soon find out that she doesn't. Portia is just plan "Ghetto". She's really smarter than she wants to admit. Joshua just couldn't keep his pants on and his wife, Parker, had reason's for doing what she did, until she realizes she is the only one that can make her happy. There is much drama in this book and a surprise at the end, that will leave your mouth hanging open. Ms. Winslow did an excellent job. The characters were well developed and the story flowed. You never had to re-read a passage to find out who was actually talking. Excellent book. A must read. Can't wait for her next novel.
Rating: Summary: Learning life's lessons the hard way Review: If I had to choose one word to describe this book, I would say, "karma." Crystal Lacey Winslow's book, "Life, Love & Loneliness," is a hilarious, tear-jerking shocker all rolled up into one. The characters draw the reader in from the first page and refuse to let go. Lyric Devaney, the around the way girl creeping on a come up, is the type of character readers love to hate. Amazingly, Winslow makes the reader care about Lyric's despicable life when a jaw-dropping event occurs, forcing the reader to re-evaluate the importance of the old adage, "You can't take it with you." Portia Jones was a marginal character, but her straight from the Brooklyn projects demeanor allows the reader to see that there's more to this woman than she can imagine until she realizes this for herself at the end of the story. Joshua Tune is essentially the male version of Lyric's conniving, evil self. He cheats repeatedly without remorse on his wife, Parker, who eventually must come to her own sense of self-love or risk being swallowed up in her husband's destructive behavior. Madison Michaels is arguably the most heart-wrenching character of them all. Losing her virginity to a complete con-artist could potentially be her downfall, unless she wakes up from the blinding coma of an unhealthy first love. Reading this book made me push aside all of the material things people think of when they look for happiness. The millions Lyric accumulated - the clothes, the jewelry; all of that meant nothing in the blink of an eye. The things you can't put a dollar amount on are the things people should be looking to obtain when journeying toward true peace. Because of this well illustrated aspect of humanity in a slightly vulgar word filled text, I feel comfortable recommending Winslow's book to mature readers who love a book with some substance. This book will leave you thinking about the characters' lives long after you read the last page and put the book down. More importantly, it'll leave you pondering what it is you should be reaching toward for complete happiness as an individual. Anna R.E.A.L. Reviewers

Rating: Summary: A Definite Page Turner Review: Life, Love and Loneliness was a definite page turner. I received the book as a bithday gift from my friend's mom. She saw Crystal at a book signing. I am mostly into reading inspirational books. However, I am glad I gave this book a chance and that I received it as a gift! I started reading it on a Friday evening and was done by Sunday morning! I had a love/hate thang for Lyric. She was so confident, yet emotionally unstable at the same time. It was interesting moving from one chapter to the next awaiting the drama filled lives of these friends. Crystal always amazed me with the new crazy, and sometimes dangerous decisions that Lyric, Joshua, or Madison made in their lives! I could not put the book down and I have passed the word. I've recommended this book to all my friends/associates. This is one not to miss. It also exemplifies that you cannot judge a book by it's cover (meaning the characters). Excellent start Crystal. I look forward to reading more of your work!

Rating: Summary: AMAZING Review: Recently I started seeing people reading a book on the train from an unknown author, Crystal Lacey Winslow with the title Life, Love and Loneliness. I thought to myself, "now what could that be about?" I thought that it would be a sad love story so I wasn't interested. Then my co-worker had purchased the book and came in testifying about how great the book was. I finally got the courage up and asked could I borrow her book. She declined saying she doesn't loan her books out. Then more and more co-worker went and got the book and they engaged in conversation about the characters like they were real people. Finally I could not take it anymore and went and made my own purchase. It was the best [money]I've ever spent! This book is excellent. I kept thinking I would know what came next--then she'd throw in a twist. The book is unpreditable. I loved Joshua! And Lyric was a trip. But she was fly. Now we all talk about this book and I just want to let the author know she did a great job and is there going to be a sequel ...
Rating: Summary: THE BEST BOOK! Review: This is by far one of the best books I have read in a while. It is a must read.
Rating: Summary: Go Crystal Review: This is one of my favorite books. I love this book. Crystal did a fantastic job. This book kept me wanting more. I could not stop reading. I read this book in a day, and it was excellent. I give Crystal 5 stars and 2 thumbs up. I felt like I knew the characters. I myself had dealt with Life, Love, and Loneliness. Keep up the good work Crystal.
Rating: Summary: Game recognizes game Review: This is the story of four unlikely friends: Lyric, Madison, Joshua and Portia, and the special way that they bond. Lyric Devaney is out for one person, herself, and she is a woman who will not hesitate to use her body to get whatever and whomever she wants. Her affairs with successful and powerful men have gotten her all of the material things any person can possibly desire. Though Lyric can be difficult to deal with, her friends not only love her,but each of them secretly envys her lifestyle and yearns to be like her in some way. Madison is a sharp law student in her final year of school, who seems destined for success, yet she dreams that she will someday be as together as Lyric appears. When she meets Maurice Morgan, a man she believes to be her soul mate, she feels that she is finally getting on track. At a glance Maurice appears to be the man of her dreams, but when one is wearing blinders the view is not really clear. As their relationship grows more intense Madison finds herself falling into a deep abyss, one that she may not be able to escape. Joshua is a prominent Brooklyn district attorney who has a penchant for success and beautiful Black women; sleeping around is his specialty. However, Joshua who is white and married has a very suspicious wife. If Joshua continues his womanizing ways he may lose the one thing most precious to him. And finally there is Portia, the girl from the hood, she only wants one thing out of life to be rich. Although she is rough around the edges, inside Portia there is a sensitive and intelligent woman. And if given the chance she could actually make something of herself. In her remarkable novel LIFE, LOVE & LONELINESS, author Crystal Lacey Winslow has hit a home run. She takes readers into the minds and lives of these four diverse, interesting and complicated characters. She also weaves an emotional story with many plot twist and turns, and by the end of the story the reader is still yearning for more. I applaud this author and look forward to reading more of her work. Reviewed by Simone A. Hawks of The RAWSISTAZ Reviewers
