Rating: Summary: Lovely messages for the holidays Review: The reason this book was written gives it even more poignancy but the book itself stands alone as a testament to faith and the power of love. All of the characters are clearly drawn and I found myself racing along to finish - it's a very easy read and certainly a wonderful book to read aloud with children, family and friends. I hope it becomes another XMAS classic. Thanks, Dick!
Rating: Summary: Outstanding Story Review: This is a book that should be shared with little children and big children! We all have wonderful dreams and thank you Richard for sharing this heart warming story!! This book is a must read! SO what are you waiting for - GET THE BOOK!!!!
Rating: Summary: A Christmas gem for all seasons Review: This little Christmas book is a gem. But don't buy it for your kids; buy it for yourself and read it to them. And don't buy it just for Christmas; you will want to read it over and over. The story works at multiple levels; it will delight, move, and haunt you. Two engaging kids face Christmas for the first time without their father, who was lost in Viet Nam. They live in a squalid trailer on the coast of Maine, and while their mother works in the local supermarket, they face nasty neighbors and creditors, and a "ghost" named Dexter who moves in and, in one sense, turns out to be Santa. But Dexter is much more than that, and his true gift to the kids and their mom is one of many delightful surprises that reward the reader. This book is an instant classic.
