Rating: Summary: The Stranger in the Mirror Review: " You will be famous," were words that continually ran through Toby Keith's head when his mother died. He had just been a teenager, and she was the only person that he had ever cared about, and he wanted to make her proud, regardless of where she was now. They were a poor family and after her death, Toby got as many jobs as he could as a comedian. Though there were many struggles along the way, Toby eventually made it to the " big times." Josephina was about 20 years younger than Toby, and had grown up very poor herself. She was a beautiful girl and wanted to be an actress; she did whatever it took to make her dreams become a reality. She left her old life of the poor girl behind, and along with it, she left her identity and then became Jill Castle. Through life, Toby and Jill's paths eventually crossed. Sparks didn't fly a first, and looking back it's hard to know if they ever actually did. Toby indeed made Jill's dreams come true, and then tragedy struck, not only once, but twice. Their lives were flipped upside down, but in the end, they ended up together; forever. Author Sidney Sheldon did an amazing job with this novel. Every secnario was as clear as glass in my mind. I could relate to the characters, and it seemed that every emotion that they were feeling surged through my veins as well. The novel made me wonder exactly what love is, or if it even exists. It also made me wonder if I would go to the lengths that Toby and Jill did, just for a dream. This novel is for anyone who has ever dreamed and sold themselves short. It will make you feel relieved that your life is not as crazy or degrading as the lives that these characters lead.
