Review: The only downside about reading Reasons for Living is that there simply isn't anything else available -in Russian or in English-by this admittedly reluctant author. I stayed up all night to finish these stories, and only wanted more. Highly recommended.

Summary: Throw Your Soul in the Mud
Review: When I picked up Reasons for Living, I was not prepared for the potential damage it could do to one's psyche. These stories are beautiful and sorrowful. No one could read these and not be moved. Usually, that means being moved to a very dark place. These stories are up there with Aeschylus when it comes to tragedy. That being said, I am really happy that I found this book. The depth and quality of the prose is amazing. I would recommend this to anyone. The only caveat I would give is not to ruin a sunny day on it. I agree with the other reviewer in that the greatest tragedy about this book is that there is no more to read.
