Rating: Summary: This is a one dayer Review: This book is one that you could read in one day, because you won't be able to but it down. Rising touched my heart and brought tears to my eyes. At one point I had to stop and pray for all the children going through such a horrible experience and for the adults that have lived through it. This book is top notch, it's like a roller coaster ride, one surprise after another. For this to be Darnella's first book, it is awesome. I can't wait to read more of her STUFF!!!!!
Rating: Summary: Inspires me Review: This book was given to me as a birthday present back in February; and this is probably one of the best thought-out gifts that I have received in years. When I first started reading the book,I had no idea it would take me to such depths. I didn't think I was going to like it because there was very litle dialogue. But after reading the first ten pages I was hooked. This author's style didn't need to include in depth dialogue because "Symone" knew how to convey her thoughts on paper. It was sad to see such a young child go through so much pain, anger and disappointment. And to go from hells's top to hell's bottom brought on personal heartache. I even felt sad for the two step-sisters. It's a shame that a parents actions towards their kids can cause damage for the rest of their lives. Some children get stronger and survive, and others fall prey to evils that resemble the parent. This book was very well written, it lifted me and carried me from beginning to end. I had visions of the ending, but I wasn't even close. And just when I thought I had figured it out, Ms Ford turned another corner on me. This book inspired to continue on with my dreams, especially after I found out that this was her first publication. If you have not purchased this book; I promise you that you won't regret it. And if you still don't think your buying it; I promise you that you're missing out on a great read. If you like Zane or Michael Baisden then you will enjoy this book. Support writers, especially first time writers. You have no idea how much rewriting, refocusing, and time went into writing this book. And this author definitely took her time to make this interesting and capitvating without having alot of uneccessary drama.
