Summary: read it in one day too good to put down
Review: I just had to give My girl her props for this book, i became a fan after i read her other book Blessings. I was so in love with that book that i went and got Lil Mamas Rules. This is a VERY good read, one that you can read over and over. The events of the book really make you think, Made me feel i needed to go get tested and make myself swear to always carry condoms! Madison had me crying, laughing, everything, i was so involved in the book i finished it in 2 days and when i was done i wanted to read it again. I just felt for her, the way it all went down. This is one for the collections right along with Eric Jerome Dickey's books. Anyone that gives this book a bad rating, QUIT HATIN! My girl can write, i will be reading Caught up in the Raptures next and i can't wait for her book that is coming out in Sept of this year.

Summary: women be aware
Review: I read this book about 2 years ago, and I remember it well it talks about a young woman who is in the prime of her life living it up and enjoying herself. But it hit's on a taboo issue of HIV. without telling the book i'll say that like I said before Sheneska Jackson's books start off slow but end with a bang.

Summary: Excellent !!!
Review: Lil Mama's Rules is the kind of book that should be made into a movie. This book is definitely a page turner and almost impossible to put down. The leading lady is strong but vunerable, funny but solemn, kind but harsh at times, In short she is an evolutionary African-American female that has learned many of life's lessons through first-hand experience. This book forces the reader to take a look at her own life and make some changes, fast! I can't review this book without noting that I found myself laughing out loud from the bold and witty antics of the characters. Terry, you're my girl and everything, but their is another contemporary African American woman writer out there who needs some attention. Somebody give Sheneska her props, please, ie. a movie deal for Lil'Mama and Caught up in the Rapture.

Summary: Following the rules...
Review: Rules are meant to be broken right? Or at least bent a little bit depending on the situation? The answer...a big resounding NO! Madison Maguire, or Li'l Mama as she is called by her family, has the ultimate set of rules for dating. Never invite your date back to your place. Never date a married man. Never spend more than five minutes waiting on a late date. You would think that with a list of rules that include the ones mentioned, plus many more, Madison would adhere to the most basic, the most common sense, the most important dating rule of all - always practice safe sex!

Unfortunately, Madison doesn't follow this rule as often as she should, and when one mistake comes back to haunt her, her life is drastically changed. How will Madison deal with the fallout? Will her family and loved ones be the support that she needs?

LI'L MAMA'S RULES is definitely a must read for everyone, but especially young adults. It is so intense, so real, that I often found myself with tears in my eyes and chill bumps across my body. I commend Jackson for tackling so many serious situations in a manner that is not so clinical in nature that even the youngest person can understand. I will definitely be recommending this book my daughter and all the young adults in my family in hopes that it affects them the way it did me...the way it was intended to affect its readers.

Summary: I read this book in one evening!
Review: Sheneska Jackson has a bestseller on her hands. This book takes a good look at the trials of a strong Blackwoman. Madison McGuire has a slamming job, a great pad, a loving family and her choice of men. While in college, she meets and falls in love with Chris, the man she planned to spend the rest of her life with. Only he decides to ruin everything by being "honest" before the wedding by telling her that he cheated on her not once, not twice, but three times. So of course she bans him and every other man she meets from her heart. It's amazing how many women can run their lives so well, but when it comes to men, the choices made are pitiful. Madison falls into that mode over and over. She has a baby sister with Tourette's disease, an overly protective mother, an absent father, and a boss that won't keep his hands off her. BUT, she handles it all so well. So when her only love, Chris, comes back to Los Angeles to claim her, she resists at first but then gives in to the love that has never left her heart. It's then and only then that she discovers she has HIV, the virus that causes AIDS. She loses it for a while, but through the love and support of her family, including her long lost father, and Chris, who never left her side, she is able to pull the "old" Madison back together. This is a wonderful book! It's true to life and it touches your heart. I love a book that can make me laugh and cry along with it's characters. Hurray for Sheneska Jackson!!!!

Summary: WORTH THE READ
Review: This book was definately a wake up call for me and for many of my friends. Sometimes we do things in our lives that we later on regret and can not change. This book was like a look into the future of what could happen to so many black females who are faced with so many of the issues presented in this book. Although fiction I can truly say that I have learned from Madisons mistakes. What made this book so realistic is that the issues presented are things we deal with or can deal in our everyday life, especially since we live in such a sexually free and 'woman power world'. It really opened my eyes and it will do the same for you. You won't be able to put it down because Sheneska Jackson has the talent of making you feel right there and making you feel like you know the characters personally, the difference is that we can change our actions now. BELIEVE ME IT'S WORTH THE READ....

Summary: I loved the rules
Review: This book was pretty good. I loved the way it started out with all the rules she lived by. They were so real life and were similar to my standards. The book really changed tones in the middle. It went from a comedy to a very serious situation that took me by surprise. Read it, you wont be disappointed.
