Review: After reading this book, I was thoroughly impressed with the detail Mr. Riker provides. This book has an excellent description of the trials and challenges faced by the Underwater Demolition teams of WWII, the predecessors of SEALs. Mr. Riker does appear to skip around a lot, but he manages to be able to capture the energy and emotion that is felt by everyone of the major characters of this book.

Review: First of, I would like to say that the Seals, The Warrior Breed series is excellent! Gripping, captivating, truly believable combat scenes, and characters. This series is every bit as good, if not better than all of W.E.B. Griffin's series on the Army and Marine Corp.

However, I noticed one error in Purple Heart. In Chapter One, Joe Galloway's Character is identified as a Navy Captain, and in the Epilogue, he is referred to as an Admiral. Both Chapter One and the Epilogue occur on the same day in November 1961. I find it to be a slight oversight on the Editor's part; however, it is mildly annoying.

I contacted the author, and the publisher and as yet have not received a response from them.

Review: It's a interesting story about the early stages of the SEAL Teams. However, the book seemed to jump around too much.
