Rating: Summary: Read Someone Else Review: "Retirement," the passage quoted above, is not an interview with the author. It's supposed to be a poem. I live in Duluth, where Louis Jenkins is an icon of poetry. I've never understood why. To me, the prose poems in Sea Smoke-- and those in his prior books-- evoke little of the atmosphere of Duluth. The language is everywhere commonplace, and the content as interesting as someone recounting their dreams of the night before. Ignore the book jacket hyperbole; forget the praise from Keillor and Bly. Just read someone else.
