Review: I've had Professor Shaw for two classes already and I must say her classes are very informative and interesting. Not everyone has the pleasure of taking a class with her, but I recommend all my fellow French Literature majors out there to read this book. If you are a undergraduate and want to gain a broad knowledge of poetry ranging from the Medieval French poetry to contemporary Francophone poetry this book is your answer. A good source of review for graduate students as well, that is if your interests aren't really in poetry, but of course there are those Masters tests! This is a must for all scholars of French literature at all levels.
