Rating: Summary: Buy it! Review: Skye Fargo comes across a homestead being terrorised by an elephant! Seems the elephant has escaped from a circus run by Thaddeus T. Timbletree. He travels the world putting on shows and collecting wild animals to add to his attractions. In America he wants a grizzly. Trouble is, rumour has it, he carries with him a fortune in gold. The outlaws want that and very soon they make a play for it which sees a mankilling tiger on the loose. Throw in some Utes and you have an explosive mix.A very fast moving story that builds to an exciting climax, a story that displays the tough and also the human side of Fargo. There's plenty of action, a lot of which is quite gory. You'll also find yourself laughing at the books lighter moments, for instance when Timbletree first appears, the description of him painted a very funny image within my mind. Excellent, get yourself a copy now!
Rating: Summary: Tigers, elephants, outlaws and Indians oh my!!! Review: Skye Fargo has been sidetracked from his original destination into an adventure mystery of the most unusual kind. It may not be Barnum's and Bailey's, but Thaddeus Thimbletree is bringing the circus out west and havoc with it every step of the way. Skye meets up with the circus after a rampaging animal attacks a settler family leaving a huge hole in a barn and two injured parents and their children fending for themselves. An affectionate elephant, a ferocious tiger and beautiful women in shimmering costumes are but a few of the main characters in this story. Put this together with gold, outlaws and greed and you have the making for an adventure Skye Fargo will not likely soon forget. If you like westerns with realistic violence and a suspenseful tale, then this is the novel for you. You get to taste the excitement when the King of the Beasts gets on the loose doing what it does best, scaring and eating those who get in its path. Put the best tracker around on its trail and you are bound to have excitement. Every once in awhile in a TRAILSMAN book you get to see the many sides of Skye Fargo. The story begins with a curiosity that must be quenched by tracking a huge animal making tracks larger than any buffalo he's ever seen. And it ends with him hot on the trail of most vicious lion escaped from its cage. The scope of this story gives the reader a chance to see the depth of emotions in Skye Fargo. He experiences rage, displays warmth and as always is his usual studly self. He finds himself in a pickle more than once. You start wondering how he'll find his way out of this one. The old cliche rings true here, where there is a will Skye will find a way. I like seeing the human side of a Skye Fargo. This story sucessfully portraits that. This is another must read! Thanks Jon Sharpe (David Robbins), this is an A-1 story that will keep the reader on the edge of his seat until the end!
