Review: Reading Macdonald's poetry is like taking a Mensa quiz---it's an interesting intellectual exercise, but one devoid of passion or genuine emotion. Her poems remain marred by bad puns, and she mistakes the gynecological for genuine inspiration. An attempt at poetic formality further distances the reader away from the reality the poems attempt to reflect. Artifical, superficial, overwritten, and best buried, her "Living Will" arrives DOA.
