Summary: learn about the true origins of the novel
Review: I used this book for a class on the 18th century British Novel. It includes complete works by Aphra Behn, Delariviere Manley, Jane Barker, Penelope Aubin, Eliza Haywood, Mary Davys, and Elizabeth Singer Row. Yet the large pages and intelligent layout allow all of these works to fit nicely into a slim anthology. The editors did an excellent job here. The footnotes are informative and the text has not been tampered with, thus the original feel of the language remains. These are great works and they do not deserve to be neglected.
