Description:
In his impressive debut novel, Leebron creates a dark , scary story about two basically moral and intelligent people who stumble into murder almost by accident. Ben is a graduate student who got caught with some pot and an underage companion; after a prison term, he's trying to rebuild his life while working nights at a welfare hotel in San Francisco's Tenderloin. Amber is equally smart, but is hiding out in a VISTA teaching job because of an act of revenge against her brutal boyfriend. The sparks that fly when they meet start a fire that will change both their lives drastically, and Leebron is so good at chronicling their fears and aspirations that you'll be totally engrossed.
