Summary: Many Challenges in Small Town America in'30s and '40s.
Review: "At a time when our world is filled with danger and uncertainty in today's world, it is refreshing and exciting to drop back to the period of Tom and Homer Cable depicted in Homer's Place. It is a heart warming account of a father and his energetic son in a small town in the Great Depression. The many unforgettable characters, who survived in Oklahoma somehow despite the odds, add to the deep meaning of this excellent tale. This compelling story will capture your interest regardless of your age or background. You will realize that America today derives much of its strength, spirit, and determination to overcome hardships from people and circumstances like those in Winelda,OK years ago. Having known the author for over 60 years, I wholeheartedly recommend this wonderful story."

Summary: Homer's Place by Harlan Koch
Review: If you are interested in an accurate account of life in a small midwestern town during and following the depression and dust bowl years, you should read this book. It is historical fiction. I grew up in the community from which this story came. It was difficult for me to separate the fact from the fiction. Author Koch has captured it "like it was."

Summary: "Homer's Place" a Winner
Review: My wife and I read a lot of fiction from well-known authors and rate Harlan Koch's "Homer's Place" with the best of them. Not only does the story depict a special time and place in our country but does so with an entertaining, humorous and heartwarming style. We highly recommend it.
