Review: I'm reading it right now and its not like a boring adventure book that takes forever to get to the point but it all goes by so fast- its great and its about a real life event!

Summary: Much better than just reading the history
Review: The author obviously conducted much research in his quest to write the book. Compared to other historical novels, he does not force all the facts down your throat, but mixes it well with the story. It's not a hard read. The situations in the story are fascinating and sometimes brutal. I felt the author portrayed both the Indians and Mormons objectively. The only fault I had with the book is I felt the author didn't do a good job of developing the tension that these experiences would have warranted. Definetly a good read for any one interested in Native American history.
