Rating: Summary: A throughly entertaining read from first page to last Review: In Outlaw Heroes, we are introduced to twelve-year-old Will Long, who considers himself launched on the adventure of a lifetime when he is swept back in time to join in with Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. But when a bank robbery goes wrong, Will realizes that the outlaw life isn't nearly so exciting and glamorous as he had thought it was. Written for young readers ages 10 and older, Outlaw Heroes is a throughly entertaining read from first page to last, and would make a fine addition to school and community library collections.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading Ms. Sletten's book Outlaw Heroes. Her exceptional writing skills, well-defined characters, and realistic dialogue, makes her an author to keep an eye on. This reviewer looks forward to reading more work by this talented author. Just as young Will in the book, Deanna Lynn Sletten also enjoys the adventures of Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. After watching the movie starring Robert Redford, and Paul Newman, her interest progressed to where she found herself researching the outlaws. Deanna decided to write about the legendary outlaws while watching her son play outlaws with her sister. Deanna lives in Northern Minnesota wither two children, Michael and Deborah, and her husband. ...
Rating: Summary: Fun-filled adventure for kids 10 and up Review: Young adult novel, Outlaw Heroes, by author Deanna Lynn Sletten is a fun-filled adventure story that will capture your imagination. It is a mixture of the real-life adventures of Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid with the fictional twist of adding twelve-year-old Will Long. Will is swept back in time to join the adventures of his favorite outlaws, only to soon learn that being an outlaw isn't as exciting as he'd thought. He learns some life-lessons along the outlaw trail that he takes back with him in his real life. Outlaw Heroes is non-violent fun and does not glorify outlaws. It's just a fun adventure with some of our western history's most memorable characters. And it is a refreshing change from the children stories out there today.
