Rating: Summary: A new beginning! Review: Black Lace has started to be more selective with their titles and this is shown best in Asking for Trouble by Kristina Lloyd. Its about time and the sales of these titles are starting to rocket as a result. All they need to do now is reprint Unfinished Business by Sarah Hope-Walker and everyone will be happy. That aside this book by Stella Black is a great read and an ideal gift for the special people in your life. Spread the word the literary world is changing for the better!
Rating: Summary: Shameless Review: I gave this book one star, but if I could I would give it a negitive number. I am a big fan of Black Lace books, but this was the worst piece of garbage I have ever read. It took me over a month just to force myself to finish it, I kept thinking it would have to get better (but it only got worse). It had a stupid story and the sex scenes were not sex scenes at all, they were all about a woman who loved to be beat senseless and then rode hard. It was unimaginative and lacked any senuality at all. Would not recommend that you waste your money. Try "The Gallery" or "Doctor's Orders" if you are looking for a good black lace book to read.
Rating: Summary: Wow! Review: I own more than 30 Black Lace novels, and this is one of the best. Yes, it is sleazy like it says on the back cover, a little strange in part...But there is more to it than that. You must look at the concepts it expresses. I myself have just entered into my first S&M relationship as a sub. Stella writes of her experiences yes, but what counts are the intense, binding emotions she feels. I can identify! I know I shouldn't have done this (being that lots of Black Lace books are collectables and all) but I actually underlined some passages in the book to go back to - p 173 "I did not understand pure submission;I did not know how to go all the way or want to;my heart and stomach were always rebeling agaist him. I relished his directives but only because I had asked for them and allowed them." This is not a book about nothing. I'd like more along these lines! PLEASE keep publishing these books. They seem to be the only ones with plots. Also Zoe Le Verdier's characters and humor blow away Danielle Steel any day!
