Summary: great tale of reassessing your most important relationship
Review: In fact, Georgina has only had ONE relationship (romantic, sexual and otherwise) in her entire adult life, and that is with Hugh. They met while at university, and George was smitten from the get-go. Even when he ended up marrying Becca -- perfect Becca, who is an 11 out of 10 while George describes herself as a mere 5.5 --- and having 2 kids with her. George spent the intermittent time transforming herself into a gorgeous girl (implants and all) who has traveled the world -- not so much for herself but to impress Hugh.

And now he has left Becca to move in with her, and she is infact pregnant with their child.

The book starets with George discovering she is pregnant and each chapter covers a month in her pregnancy. As her body and indeed her friendships with her single friends change, she notices changes in Hugh as well. George calculates she has spent half her life in salons and gyms to avoid being fat, which is what Becca became after having their kids, and staying on top of current affairs to avoid being boring (ditto for Becca.)

George's priorities shift and she examines her relationship with Hugh and her understanding of Becca differently. It is a good read, nothing too pat and obvious about what it is like to be pregnant, especially when you think the father is everything you have ever wanted.

Summary: Better than most Chick-lit
Review: Some would think that "Larger Than Life" by Adele Parks is just another Chick-lit book, but don't be fooled. This book is much more. This is a book about a woman who spends most of her life changing herself to get the man that she wants (who cares if he is all ready married to someone else.) When she finally get him, she gets pregnant, and learns more about him and herself. This is a great book that shouln't be missed.

Summary: Hmm ...
Review: This book was good except for the fact that it too way too long for the heroine, George, to get over her worthless boyfriend. IT was certainly entertaining, but I didn't like George much for the first 200 pages. She was self-centered and obessed with Hugh. And her looks. (How many ways can the girl say she's fat?) A bit shallow, for sure. Also it made me mad that after she got pregnant and she knew for sure that she was expecting, that she went and drowned her sorrows in alchol. That's awful!
